Lucy Alexander: Homes Under The Hammer star reveals why she’s ‘not good’ at her job

Lucy Alexander, 48, became a daytime TV favourite presenting Homes Under The Hammer alongside Martin Roberts.

But the star quit her role on the property programme there years ago.

Talking about working in TV, Lucy admitted she’s not very good at “remembering” her lines and prefers to be spontaneous.

She spilled: “I’m not good at remembering my lines.

“Usually I make things up as I go. I think a bit of spontaneity on camera is essential,” Lucy told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine.

Despite the admission, Lucy said she “misses” being a part of the BBC One property show.

“I miss presenting Homes Under The Hammer because I got to look around so many different properties,” she said.

Lucy continued: “Occasionally I catch myself watching a re-run on TV, and I can tell how old the show is by how dated my clothes are.”

Meanwhile, Lucy had a disaster earlier this week as she arrived back at her car to find a parking ticket.

The presenter was hit with the fine after enjoying a day out with her son, Leo, in Kingston upon Thames.

Lucy shared a video to her Instagram story of herself zooming the camera into the yellow ticket placed on her car’s windscreen.

The host revealed it’s not the first time she has been struck with a parking fine.

She wrote: “Another to add to the collection GRRRR.”

Lucy added some hilarious shocked emojis to the video.

Before revealing the news with her 33,600 Instagram followers, she uploaded a a picture of herself with her son.

The BBC star beamed to the camera in the snap as she sat riverside with her youngest child.

Lucy kept a pair of sunglasses on for the mother-and-son photo as the sun shone down on them.

They appeared to be about to order some food as they enjoyed each other’s company out in London.

She wrote beside the image: “Riverside lunch with the boy @leo.castledine.”

Homes Under The Hammer airs weekdays on BBC at 10am.
