Maura Higgins has offered supported to her former Love Island co-star Amber Gill following her split from Greg O'Shea — despite reports she was spotted "flirting" with the Irish hunk just hours after the split.
The 28 year old stunned on the red carpet of the TV Choice Awards on Monday night, turning heads in a very daring dress.
But talk of the night revolved around Amber's break up with Greg, with Maura throwing her support behind the Geordie beautician, who was also in attendance.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Maura said: "It's disappointing to see anyone part but you know what, maybe the long distance was a problem, I know Amber said she's disappointed but she such a strong girl, she's incredible.
"She's going to be so successful, she's amazing and you know what, these things happen. If it wasn't meant to be it wasn't meant to be but she's strong."
Maura's supportive words about Amber comes after it was reported she was "all over" Greg following their joint television appearance on Friday night.
Greg took to The Late Late Show in Ireland alongside Maura and her partner Curtis Pritchard just hours after his split from Amber.
According to The Sun, Greg and Maura partied into the night at whiskey bar No 37 Dawson Street, with their flirty behaviour "raising eyebrows".
A source told the publication: "No one was impressed after seeing Greg and Maura on Friday. Amber and Greg had only broken up a few hours ago, so everyone thought it was pretty distasteful and cruel of them — they were all over each other.
"Curtis came to support them on The Late Late Show and made a brief appearance but had to leave shortly after so he didn't see any of it.
"The girls aren't that surprised as it's nothing she didn't do in the villa but they are all saying Maura broke the girl code and has shown her true colours by partying with Greg.
"Poor Amber was sat at home in tears while Maura was out on the town with him — and all over him."
During his appearance on the TV show, Greg denied he had dumped Amber by text, saying: "Me and Amber have been chatting over the last couple of days and over phone calls, this whole thing about a text message isn’t true, people just want to tell stories.
"We’re mad about each other, I’m mad about her, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart, funny, personality, the queen of Love Island for a reason.
"But you need to be realistic about the situation, she lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course, she deserves all of it.
"And I’ve come back to Ireland to do my thing here, hoping to get to the Olympics with the Sevens team, I have my law exams coming up.
"We’re both so jam packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck and be realistic about the situation so we’re protecting our careers, that’s where we are at the moment."
But Amber confirmed he had delivered the devastating blow by text, telling Loose Women on Monday: "Obviously I'm really disappointed, I wasn't expecting it at all.
"I was due just that weekend just gone to fly out to Dublin and spend the weekend with him and we were going on a TV show together and on that day I had to cancel because it wasn't working out.
"But yeah, I just think, you know the career and the distance was always a factor, it was always something that we knew about so I don't know what changed. I wanted to make it work but it is what it is really.
"I am disappointed that it's over but, you know, I'm booked and I'm busy. I'll be fine, onwards and upwards from here.
"From my point of view I still wanted to make to work and there was a call a few days prior just chatting, not specifically to do with that but definitely on that day it was a text.
"We were texting each other, but that’s why I had to cancel [an appearance alongside Greg on live TV]."
