'Four Weddings and a Funeral' Reunion on the Way for Red Nose Day Charity Special

Last year, the Christmas romantic comedy Love Actually got a sequel in the form of a short film created in conjunction with the charity campaign Red Nose Day. And this year, they’re taking another beloved British romantic comedy and giving it a big reunion.

Four Weddings and a Funeral is a beloved 1994 romantic comedy written by Love Actually director Richard Curtis, who also happens to be the co-founder of Red Nose Day. So the filmmaker is using his unique position to stage a Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion short that will arrive in 2019, just in time for the film’s 25th anniversary. Find out more below.

If you’ve never seen Four Weddings and a Funeral, here’s the original trailer and synopsis for the movie:

Lovable Englishman Charles (Hugh Grant) and his group of friends seem to be unlucky in love. When Charles meets a beautiful American named Carrie (Andie MacDowell) at a wedding, he thinks his luck may have changed. But, after one magical night, Carrie returns to the States, ending what might have been. As Charles and Carrie’s paths continue to cross — over a handful of nuptials and one funeral — he comes to believe they are meant to be together, even if their timing always seems to be off.

Taking a cue from Red Nose Day Actually, the Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion short film will be called One Red Nose Day and a Wedding. And the follow-up will bring back pretty much everyone from the original cast: Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, Rowan Atkinson, James Fleet, David Haig, Sophie Thompson, David Bower, Robin McCaffrey, Anna Chancellor, Rupert Vansittart, Simon Kunz, Sara Crowe and Timothy Walker. The press release indicates there will be “some very special guest stars” making an appearance as well.

The stars of the original movie aren’t the only ones getting back together for this special project. Original Four Weddings and a Funeral director Mike Newell will be behind the camera again for the project, which picks up 25 years after the original story.

Richard Curtis had this to say about the Four Weddings and a Funeral reunion short:

“We’re all definitely older – I suspect no wiser. It’s been really enjoyable working out what’s happened to all the characters – and now they get back together for the 5th wedding. Where, as usual, not everything will go as planned.”

Since Red Nose Day originates in the United Kingdom, they’ll be getting One Red Nose Day and a Wedding early when Red Nose Day 2019 commences on March 15, 2019. But fans in the United States will be able to watch the short themselves when NBC’s Red Nose Day special airs sometime in May.

Also, if you’re a big enough fan of Four Weddings and a Funeral (and you happen to live in the United Kingdom), you can enter for a chance to win a visit to the set and have breakfast with the cast and crew or even win a walk-on role in the movie. Just give a donation at Givergy for a chance to win either of those contests. You’ve got until the end of December 9 to enter, but remember, you must live in the United Kingdom.

Don’t forget, Mindy Kaling is also working on a Hulu reboot of Four Weddings and a Funeral too.

London Goheen Sizzles In Barely-There Teal Bikini That Flaunts Her Chiseled Abdomen And Rounded Booty

Model London Goheen took to Instagram on Wednesday to post a jaw-dropping bikini snap flaunting her enviable figure.

In the photo, the girlfriend of fitness model Tammy Hembrow’s ex-fiance Reece Hawkins stands on a small walkway outside an apartment complex that leads to the beach. She sports a bright teal bikini with high-waisted bottoms that follow the curve of her hips and a simple top that pushes up her busty chest. The model displays her rock-hard abs, rounded backside, and sculpted legs as she strikes a cute pose for the camera with one hip pushed out to the side. She completed the look with white sneakers, a black shoulder back, black sunglasses, and a sports drink.

London geo-tagged the photo in Palm Beach, Gold Coast, Queensland and left a cheeky caption reading, “typical london goes to the beach and doesn’t realize her bottoms are inside out.. oh well still cute,” followed by a green heart.

In the comment section, many of her followers referenced her caption, writing that there was no way they could tell the suit was on inside out and that they were too distracted by her beauty to care.

One follower wrote, “Why do you have such a perfect body? I wish I could look like you!,” while another commented, “You are absolutely stunning London, and I LOVE the color of your bikini!”

Recently, the brunette beauty has been the target of negative comments from Tammy fans who have accused the American model of attempting to impersonate Tammy and of stealing her man. The two women have been locked in a social media rivalry since Reece announced that he was dating London back in September.

The 20-year-old model has posted photos of herself and Reece on her Instagram account, which have attracted online trolls that were unhappy that Reece had moved on from Tammy so quickly after their split back in June, reports the Daily Mail.

Reece has since spoken out against the trolls, stating in a YouTube video that London had nothing to do with his and Tammy’s split and that he didn’t think it was likely that he and the fitness star would ever reconcile.

“I thought I’d talk about this whole situation that everyone keeps hammering me about on Instagram. I can’t see us getting back together, so some of you are going to have to start accepting that. If you guys don’t know, I am dating London. I have been for three months now. I didn’t know her when me and Tammy split. She’s got nothing to do with the split at all…I didn’t actually meet her until I went to Los Angeles three months ago, and we have been together ever since.”

The former couple also shares two children, Saskia and Wolf.

R. Kelly documentary screening canceled after threats

A private screening of an R. Kelly documentary series was abruptly canceled and evacuated in New York due to “several anonymous threats” during the event.

An anonymous male caller claimed that if the film, Surviving R. Kelly, continued to play that somebody in the theater would start shooting.

While the threats made to the NeueHouse Madison Square venue were not deemed credible, the theater was evacuated as a precaution.

“At tonight’s premiere of Lifetime’s documentary series Surviving R. Kelly at NeueHouse Madison Square, several anonymous threats were called in,” Lifetime said in a statement obtained by EW. “As a precaution, the network elected to evacuate the building. The safety and security of our panel, guests and staff is of paramount importance to Lifetime.”

Surviving R. Kelly is a six-part series that Lifetime describes as an investigation into the controversial 51-year-old Chicago R&B singer. The show is said to reveal new allegations of sexual, mental and physical abuse committed by Kelly, who has long denied reports of wrongdoing.

“Calling in a noncredible threat to the NYPD to interrupt our screening is an act of desperation from people who don’t want these truths shared with the world,” the show’s showrunner Dream Hampton told CNN. “The survivors who bravely sat with me for this docuseries know all too well what R. Kelly is capable of, every one of them has stories of being abused and controlled by him.”

While Kitti Jones, who last year accused Kelly of physical abuse and sexual coercion, told Rolling Stone: “This just speaks to how much power there is in numbers, that someone felt the need to threaten the event. But we won’t be intimidated or silenced and we hope this brings even more attention to the legitimacy of our stories and how important this documentary is to the movement.”

EW has reached out to Lifetime for comment.

Surviving R. Kelly airs Friday, Jan. 3.

Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner Respond To Priyanka Chopra Being Called A ‘Scam Artist’

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner proved that family sticks together on Tuesday when they came to the defense of Priyanka Chopra after New York Magazine‘s The Cut printed an article titled, “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Love for Real?” according to a report by E! News.

The article addressed the Bollywood star in a skeptical light, referring to Joe Jonas’ new sister-in-law as a “global scam artist,” in writing — according to screenshots from the article collected by India Today, “At times, marriage can be a beautifully wonderful union that warms even the coldest of hearts, but sadly, this union evokes no such feeling. All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist.”

The article went on to savage Chopra, citing her need to “marry up” as her main purpose in getting hitched with Jonas — and even criticizing the ceremony itself, for being “almost a week long.” The logic of the attack was that the ceremony was an overboard and flashy display intended to blind observers to the disingenuous nature of their marriage, ignoring the fact that traditional Indian wedding ceremonies are known to span about five days.

The author went on to end the post by writing, “Nick, if you’re reading this, find that horse and gallop away as fast you can!”

Nick’s older brother, Joe, was quick to jump to the defense of the newlyweds, responding via Twitter by writing, “This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words,” he tweeted. “What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next.”

Joe’s fiancee Sophie Turner, who also served as one of Chopra’s bridesmaids, also joined in on the attack on the article, writing via Twitter that, “This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls**t.”

The offending article was eventually updated — with sections of the article, most notably the line referring to Chopra as a “scam artist,” edited out. However, the backlash proved to be too much for the website, and the article was eventually removed completely.

In an editor’s note on the page that originally led to the story, an apology was published that read:

“Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize.”

'Daredevil' Was Netflix's Fourth Biggest Show – So Why Was It Canceled?

The strange saga that is the Daredevil cancelation continues. A new report reveals that Daredevil was canceled despite being the fourth-biggest show on Netflix. And still another report claims that it wasn’t Netflix who pulled the plug on the superhero series – it was Marvel themselves. Just what in the name of Hell’s Kitchen is going on here?

As you’ll recall, word came last week that Daredevil was joining the canceled ranks of Netflix Marvel shows Luke Cage and Iron Fist, leaving only Jessica Jones and The Punisher. When the cancelation revelation arrived, a statement claimed Daredevil would live on in some form, leading many to speculate that the show would end up on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+:

“Marvel is extremely grateful to the huge audience that loved Marvel’s Daredevil. From the moment of young Matt’s first act of heroism to the birth of Page, Murdock, & Nelson, it has been an unbelievable journey. We are incredibly proud of the amazing showrunners and writers starting with Drew Goddard and Steven DeKnight, Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie and Erik Oleson, Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio and our casts who brought our characters to life with such excellence, and every one of the fantastic crews in NYC. We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future.”

Now, the Daredevil cancellation grows more curious in the wake of two different reports. First, Entertainment Weekly delved into the story, and discovered that Daredevil was the fourth-biggest show on Netflix:

According to the data, Narcos (presumably including the latest edition, Narcos: Mexico) was on top with 36 million “demand expressions,” followed by the recently launched Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (34 million) and then — rather surprisingly given it’s been a year since its last season — Stranger Things (31 million) and then Daredevil (30 million). Narcos: Mexico, by and by, just received a season 2 renewal.

Why would Netflix cancel one of their most popular shows? We previously reported that viewership for the latest seasons of Iron Fist and Luke Cage was down, which makes their cancelations slightly understandable. But if Daredevil was really doing so well, Netflix giving it the boot is curious.

Here’s the thing: maybe Netflix didn’t give it the boot at all. Steven Weintraub, Editor-In-Chief of Collider, tweeted out an interesting rumor regarding the situation:

I loved season 3 and was all in for a season 4. Disappointing it won't happen. pic.twitter.com/7Y6AmCEWq6

— Steven Weintraub (@colliderfrosty) December 5, 2018

As Weintraub states, he was unable to get a second source on this info, so it can only be chalked-up as a rumor. Still, this coupled with the EW report strongly indicates that this might not have been a Netflix decision. If Marvel really did pull the plug themselves, this suggests that maybe they’re planning on moving the show over to Disney+ in some form. In the end, though, we have no real answers. Only questions. But something about this situation doesn’t add up.

Here’s Who Should Host The 2019 Golden Globes

Christmas may be thought of as being the most wonderful time of the year, but entertainment enthusiasts know this isn’t the case. The most wonderful time of the year actually comes immediately after the holidays when award show season gets officially underway. First up will be none of than the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards. And though the show may be just around the corner, if you’re having a hard time recalling who will be hosting the 2019 Golden Globes, don’t feel bad because that big reveal hasn’t been announced just yet.

That’s right, nominations for the awards show will be revealed on Thursday, Dec. 6, which is precisely one month exactly prior to the ceremony itself, and yet we have absolutely no idea who will be running the show. Some may find it a little strange that this particular piece of news has yet to be leaked by this point. Last year, Seth Meyers was confirmed to serve as host for the 2018 Golden Globes on Nov. 23, 2017, so the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) higher-ups are definitely holding out on us a little longer this year, and it’s getting time for them to dole out some much-needed intel.

That being said, we do know that Idris Elba’s daughter, Isan Elba, will be serving as the 2019 Golden Globes Ambassador, meaning it’ll be her job to present the trophies to all of the winners and help escort them offstage once they give their speeches.

It’s only a matter of time before the host will be announced, so odds are we won’t have to wait until the night of to find out who it will be. But in the meantime, it never hurts to come up with some suggestions as to who can (and should) take over the hosting reigns this time around. So if the HFPA is still looking for ideas, here’s a little inspiration.

Tiffany Haddish

She did an amazing job hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards. It would be great to see her bring a little of that comedy magic to the Globes.

Abbi Jacobson & Ilana Glazer

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey may be done hosting this particular ceremony, but they aren’t the only hilarious dynamic duo capable of taking up the reigns. These Broad City stars would bring a fresh new perspective to the hosting duties, though, admittedly the person in charge of censorship would have their work cut out for them.

Melissa McCarthy

Is there anything this woman can’t excel at? That’s a rhetorical question, of course, because the answer is obviously no. She would make for a delightful host and perhaps even inspire a Bridesmaids reunion skit. Please?

Kate McKinnon

Michael Che and Colin Jost may have proved to be lackluster hosts for the 2018 Emmy Awards, but you just know their SNL costar McKinnon would nail the responsibility and make the Golden Globes the must-see event of the year.

Ellen DeGeneres

She proved to be a terrific Oscars host and helped take the concept of a selfie to a whole other level. Not to mention, DeGeneres is also extremely charismatic and instantly likable. She’d make those three hours fly by.

Steve Carell

You may have noticed that most of the people on this list are women, but if there was any reason to break the pattern, it would be to include Carell in all the fun. His latest hosting stint on SNL went really well. Might as well keep the momentum going and hopefully make that Office reboot announcement happen for real this time!

Kristen Bell

Because when you feel like you’re currently living in The Bad Place, you need someone from The Good Place to come make it all better.

Billy Eichner

Just watching him go around yelling at everyone would be very cathartic IMO.

John Krasinski & Emily Blunt

These two have had an outstanding year, between the success of The Quiet Place and their starring roles in Jack Ryan and Mary Poppins Returns, respectively. What better way is there to celebrate their good fortune? Their turn as hosts would be practically perfect in every way.

Hosting the Golden Globes is a major responsibility and can help set the tone for the whole evening, so let’s hope that whoever it ends up being will be up to the challenge and then some.

‘The Conners’ Stumbles To Season Low, ‘Flash’ Speeds Up For 100th Episode

The Voice (1.4/7) was the top-rated show on primetime last night, but the real winner looks to have been The Flash (0.7/3).

Celebrating its 100th episode, the CW’s Scarlet Speedster series was the only show to rise on a Tuesday of lows, declines and same old same old.

Edging toward the annual crossover with Arrow and Supergirl starting Sunday, last night’s clip-finessed “What’s Past Is Prologue” episode was up 17% among adults 18-49 over last week. The uptick did not carry over to lead-out Black Lightning (0.3/1), which stayed even with its November 27 airing.

Heading into its final few episodes of this inaugural season of sorts, The Conners (1.3/4) took a double hit Tuesday. One, the Roseanne spinoff was topped in a matchup for only the second time in its run by The Voice. Secondly, taking a 7% dip from last week, The Conners fell to an all-time low. That low may hurt a bit more because it isn’t just among the key demo but also in viewers, with 6.63 million sets of eyeballs watching.

To make a comparison with Roseanne, which had some ratings issues itself after a stellar debut, last night’s Conners was down a hard 50% from the eighth episode of the mothershow that aired on May 15.

The rest of ABC’s Tuesday saw The Kids Are Alright (0.8/3), Black-ish (0.8/3), Splitting Up Together (0.6/3) and the Nathan Fillion-starrer The Rookie (0.7/3) all down a tenth from their November 27 shows.

Over on NBC, The Voice was also down a tenth to match a season low, while the A Saturday Night Live Christmas (1.0/5) rang those holiday bells two-tenth less than last year.

Overall, the Comcast-owned net won the night in the demo with a 1.1/5, while close second-place CBS (1.0/5) was first in viewers with 9.91 million watching.

The latter network saw NCIS (1.2/5), FBI (1.0/5) and NCIS: New Orleans (0.8/3) all back exactly the same as their last originals of two weeks ago. On Fox, The Gifted (0.7/3) and Lethal Weapon (0.7/3) were unmoved from their final results of last week.

Jessica Simpson Calls Out Natalie Portman for Comments on Simpson's Virgin Bikini Pic

Jessica Simpson is firing back at Natalie Portman for saying she got mixed messages from one of Jessica’s famous magazine covers way back in the day.

Jessica called out Natalie Wednesday, saying she’s “disappointed” Natalie is slut shaming her for posing in a bikini, while also boasting about being a virgin.

In a recent interview, Natalie told USA Today, “I remember being a teenager, and there was Jessica Simpson on the cover of a magazine saying ‘I’m a virgin’ while wearing a bikini, and I was confused. Like, I don’t know what this is trying to tell me as a woman, as a girl.”

Natalie, who plays a pop star in her new movie, “Vox Lux,” was talking about real-life pop stars and the virgin/vixen paradigms pushed by the music industry in the late 1990s.

Jessica thinks Natalie should know better … telling her, “As public figures, we both know our image is not totally in our control at all times, and that the industry we work in often tries to define us and box us in.”

Jessica further scolds Natalie by writing, “being sexy in a bikini and being proud of my body are not synonymous with having sex.”

The pop star’s social media rant included some shade for Natalie — “I have made it my practice to not shame other women for their choices. I encourage you to do the same.”
