Arsenal legend Andrey Arshavin's wife Alisa reports him to police over 'threats'

The news comes after Alisa reportedly "threatened to cut a model's finger off" after the Arsenal legend was caught cuddling up to the busty blonde.

And the couple continue to hit the headlines with Russian news agency Tass claiming the 35-year-old has reported the former Zenit star to the police.

They state that Arshavin, 37, sent his partner threatening phone calls and text messages.

Alisa's lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky said: "A statement to the police was filed upon threats from his [Arshavin] side."

The couple – who married in 2016 and have a daughter together – are currently in the midst of a divorce, with proceedings ongoing at Petersburg World Court.

Arshavin – who has three children with first wife Julia Baranovskaya – has been accused of having an affair during their marriage.

Speaking in 2017, Alisa said: "Him cheating was only one of the reasons that pushed me to make such decision (to divorce).

While also adding: "Adult people do not fight. Adult people make decisions and leave.

"I did not leave him for someone else, this I would like to stress from the very beginning.”

Arshavin – who retired at the end of last year after a three-year spell at Kazakh side Kairat – sent social media into meltdown in December following a night-out.

The Euro 2008 semi-finalist was snapped stumbling out a strip club, before bizarrely riding a horse.

Alisa subsequently closed down her social media accounts, insisting she wouldn't return "until the dust settles".

Arshavin has returned to Zenit following his retirement to head a new academy aimed at recruiting stars of the future.

He said of the job: “The project that I will lead is in almost every big club.

“This is a training camp where the most talented kids from all regions of Russia will be invited. It will be year-round."
