The German playmaker was offered to Juventus, but the Italian champions were put off by his £350,000-a-week wage demands.

According to Calciomercato, the Old Lady refused to pay such huge figures back in November.

Instead, Aaron Ramsey looks to be heading to Turin next season, with a pre-contract agreement settled between club and player, who can leave North London on a free in the summer.

They also report his agents attempted to woo Inter Milan, knowing that Arsenal would be interested in signing Ivan Perisic.

Perisic, 30, is known to be ready to leave Inter and could head off in the summer.


He has three goals and two assists in Serie A this season after 11 goals and nine assists last season and helping Croatia to the World Cup final.

Ozil missed Arsenal's clash with Huddersfield due to illness, which is the seventh time he has been ill since the start of 2017.

The 30-year-old trained with his Gunners team-mates on Friday, with the club uploading footage to YouTube.

But Unai Emery chose not to include him in the squad.

Arsenal are fifth in the table after they beat Huddersfield 2-1 on Saturday and leapfrogged Chelsea without kicking a ball, by virtue of the Blues' woeful 6-0 defeat to Man City.
