Photos: Angelina Jolie and Kids Stun Fellow Guests at ‘Dumbo’ World Premiere

AceShowbizAngelina Jolie and her kids stole the show at the world premiere of Tim Burton’s “Dumbo“. The actress/director and four of her children, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox, surprised the crowd at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday night, March 11 by making a rare carpet appearance at the event.

For the special screening, Angelina looked elegant in a white dress with sheer accent. Zahara, 14, opted for a shimmery black dress. Her 12-year-old sister Shiloh wore a black jacket with matching pants. 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox opted for different shades of blue, with Knox wearing a navy blue pantsuit.

The fivesome were giggling while arriving and posing on the red carpet. At one point, the “Salt” star was seen putting her index finger near her lips, seemingly telling her kids to behave during the event. Angelina is starring in Disney’s “Maleficent” sequel, “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil“, which is due out October 18.

Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito were among cast members who attended the event. Helen Mirren was also spotted among the guests. The veteran actress seemed to have fun as she tried the carnival sledge hammer skill tests at the circus-themed party.

“Dumbo” is a live-action take on Disney’s 1941 animated classic of the same title. It tells the story of a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughing stock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt’s children discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V. A. Vandevere and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star. The movie is coming in U.S. theaters on March 29.

Incredible photos of trident-wielding surfers on Lake Superior

Cold man of the sea: Incredible photos of trident-wielding frozen surfers catching waves during polar vortex in Michigan

A pair of determined surfers in Michigan didn’t let sub-zero temperatures prevent them from practicing their sport – as they were photographed cruising Lake Superior during the polar vortex last week.

Incredible scenes captured by Marquette-based nature photographer Devon Hains show Allen Finau and Daniel Schetter wielding tridents as they trek through the frigid lake while sporting frozen hair and beards.

Hains captured his friends during two separate shoots last Sunday and Wednesday when temperatures were below zero and a wind chill stooped to -30.

The photographer said in a statement seen on M Live the men are known to surf in freezing temperatures.

‘Some of the best waves in Lake Superior come with the winter snow and ice,’ Hains said.

‘So, after trying to get some waves on Sunday, but struggling with ice buildup on the surf boards, they decided to get out their tridents and we shot that with the waves for a while.

‘I think all Lake Superior surfers have a certain element to their personality many other people would call crazy… makes them excellent subjects to point a camera at.’

Finau and Schetter said the Aquaman-like tridents help them make their way around the frozen lake efficiently.

Hains warned others to be cautious surfing in frigid temperatures – adding that the wet suits are designed for the extreme cold.

Hains kept warm on the job last week by wearing a face mask, beanie, three thermals under his jeans and snow pants.

He also wore a sweatshirt, heavy coat and gloves. He said his eyebrows, however, froze during the outing.

Schetter frequently posts dramatic photos of himself outdoors on Facebook and describes himself in his bio as a avid surfer and gardener.

Finau has also appeared in several unique photo shoots sporting an afro and long beard.

Kendall Jenner Posts Photos of Her "Debilitating" Acne Along with an Emotional Message

Kendall Jenner is getting real about her “debilitating” struggle with acne.

The 23-year-old model — who, earlier this month, became Proactiv’s newest spokesperson — got honest about her struggle in an emotional Instagram Story on Thursday, as part of the popular ’10 Year Challenge’ meme.

Sharing two side-by-side photos of her face at 13, covered in bumps, Jenner explained, she “ran home crying everyday because people would stare at my skin.”

Jenner then shared a photo of herself and her clear skin on set, boasting that she was wearing “zero makeup.”

In an attempt to help others dealing with similar obstacles, Jenner also wrote a lengthy message on Instagram, sponsored by Proactiv. It came attached to a black and white photo of Jenner wearing a bath towel wrapped around her head.

“While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating,” Jenner wrote. “It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure.”

“As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being ‘perfect’ is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post,” she added, explaining, “I’d like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect.”

As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being “perfect” is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I’d like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect. Being insecure about my acne gave me thick skin but I wouldn’t ever wish that feeling upon anyone so after trying countless options, I found something that has been helpful in maintaining clear skin for me. It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now. I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity. ❤️

Jenner then went on to say that while “being insecure” about her acne gave her “thick skin,” she “wouldn’t ever wish that feeling upon anyone.”

After trying “countless options,” she says she’s now found something that’s been helpful in maintaining clear skin.

“It’s been a long journey but I’m excited for where my skin is now,” she said. “I didn’t think I’d see the day where I would feel confident posting a makeup free picture. My goal is to open up a dialogue around skin positivity.”

Earlier this month, Jenner opened up to PEOPLE about her skin issues, explaining that having gorgeous sisters made her struggle even tougher.

“A couple of my siblings struggled when they were much younger, but they never really had it like I did,” Jenner said. “That was also kind of a tough thing for me: to look at my beautiful sisters with beautiful skin and be like, ‘Okay, well, why me? What’s wrong with me?’ “

Over the years, the Keeping Up with the Kardashian star’s siblings — including older sisters Kourtney Kardashian, 39, Kim Kardashian West, 38, and Khloé Kardashian, 34 — have all tried to give advice and boost Jenner’s confidence.

“They were always there to lift me up and make me feel better about myself. The best part about my family and my sisters is that they never give up and they’re always looking for a way to help and looking for solution,” Jenner said.

But when her skin finally cleared up this time around, Jenner was more than happy for her loved ones to back off.

“Everyone’s always trying to help, so for years all of them were involved. Towards the end, I was like ‘Okay, everyone shut up! I figured it out,’” says Jenner, laughing. “Just let me live my life. Everyone stop bothering me.”

People share photos of lead stuck under their skin years after being stabbed with a pencil at school

A Twitter thread has asked people to share snaps of lead marks still visible under their skin – and it's a lot more common than you'd think.

The conversation was started by Californian writer Los, who wrote: "Hello I'm looking for people who have lead from their pencil stuck inside their bodies."

He went on to upload a photo of his right hand, which has a clear black dot embedded in the palm.

Amazingly, the post has now racked up over 14k re-tweets, 93k likes and 7k comments.

People have shared all kinds of stories about how they received their lead marks, from running with a sharp pencil to having one thrown in their face.

One person wrote: "Oh my God I thought I was the only person on Earth. My crush stabbed me in the hand in 6th grade social studies."

Another said: "Hello. I got frustrated while practising single digit multiplication in 3rd grade and decided to slam my head on the table.

"However, I hit my pencil that was sticking point up. It's still here 11 years later."

As you'll know, lead is actually a toxic substance.

But if you're concerned that these people have been slowly poisoning themselves since childhood, there's no need to worry.

Lead has mainly been phased out since the discovery that it's dangerous, and pencils are now made with graphite.

After reading those nasty stabbing stories, we're glad these people don't have another thing to worry about.

Heartbreaking photos show how parents spent 9 days with their dead baby girl – cuddling her, singing and dancing with her

Heather Jordan, 28, gave birth to little Maranella in December 2016 at 37 weeks, after suffering an irritable uterus.

Tragically, the baby was stillborn, but thanks to a cooling cot, Heather and dad Lee were able to spend over a week with their tiny daughter before holding her funeral.

Heather, from West Looe, Cornwall, said that being able to spend time with Maranella meant everything.

“From the moment I saw her my heart filled with love. She was one of the most beautiful children in the world," she said.

“I was dazed. It was very surreal. She looked like she was sleeping like an angel.

“I want Maranella’s memory kept alive. I don’t want anyone else going through the same situation to feel as isolated and misunderstood as I did.

“This shouldn't be taboo. She’s my daughter and she’ll always have a special place in my heart regardless of what has happened.”

Heather had a difficult pregnancy and was diagnosed with an irritable uterus at 32 weeks.

After being rushed to hospital at 36 weeks, she was given the devastating news that Maranella’s heart had stopped beating and she would have to give birth to her stillborn daughter.

Heather spent five agonising hours in labour before giving birth to her dead child.

She said: "It was the worst experience I've ever had in my life. Nothing can ever compare to it.

"I was focused on trying to deliver her healthy, despite being told she had died.

"I didn't really believe it until she came out and didn't cry."

After the birth, Heather and Lee were given a cold cot.

They then spent 24 hours with their daughter in the hospital's bereavement suite before taking her to the funeral home where they cuddled, held and sang to her.

Heather said: “The nurses brought in the cold cot and told us we were able to spend as much time with her as possible.

“We sung with her and danced with her.

“We tried to make memories and to do the things that any parent would do with their child.

“We sang Paul Weller’s ‘Wishing on a Star’ which is something I listen to now if I’m especially missing her.”

Maranella was then moved to a funeral home where she spent a week in the cold cot to preserve her skin.

Heather said: “We went into see her each and every day.

“It was beautiful, savouring every second with her and seeing how she looked.

“The people who helped us plan Maranella’s funeral went above and beyond to give us everything we wanted for our baby girl.

Heather and her husband still mark Maranella’s birthday each year and included her in their celebrations this Christmas.

Heather said: “She’ll forever be our little girl and we’ll love her always.”

The heartbroken couple is now trying to raise money for Maranella's headstone. You can donate here.

Hideous photos reveal estate rife with RATS due to overflowing bins

‘We’re living in FILTH’: Hideous photos reveal estate rife with RATS, foxes and seagulls due to overflowing bins and fly-tipping that council ‘fail to clean’

  • Shaun Outram, 54, says rats have roamed about his Sheffield estate for years
  • He claims that the ‘filth’ is so bad that it’s like living ‘in Dickensian England’
  • Dead rodents are scattered across the site, which also attracts seagulls

Huge rats are terrorising a street as overflowing bins and fly-tipping attract the vermin, whose dead bodies litter the estate.

A horrified resident has slammed Sheffield City Council for not cleaning up his street and says the rodents have roamed on the estate for years.

Shaun Outram, 54, said despite measures previously put in place to tackle the underlying issue, the streets are still ‘alive with rodents’.

Shocking pictures show a huge rodent caught in a trap and mounds of rubbish lying on the street.

Dead bodies are scattered across the estate in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, where one angry resident has demanded that the Labour-led council fix the problem

Litter is strewn across the estate in South Yorkshire where rats are reportedly roaming along with foxes

Litter in the streets is attracting not only rats (pictured, one of the rats in the road) but also seagulls, Mr Outram has said

Gruesome sights are scattered across the South Yorkshire estate, says Mr Outram, with this picture showing just one of the dead rats in Sheffield

Mr Outram said: ‘The debris which has been dumped around the street bins has been cleared up, but there is more to replace it and there will be even more in the morning until the council come and clear it up yet again.

‘This is what council tax is being spent on every day rather than parks and repairing and replenishing communal gardens – things that benefit the whole community.

The 54-year-old (pictured) is furious with his local council leader and has demanded that she come and see the problem for herself

‘We have three dedicated street wardens who are supposed to patrol, spot and fine the culprits.

‘They have been in the area over six months now but there has been no improvement. There are dead rats all over the estate.’

Mr Outram, who has lived on the Page Hall estate in South Yorkshire for more than  15 years, claims the number of rats he has killed has reached triple figures.

‘I’ve had an environment team leader out to see the area,’ he said.

‘He is planning on more wide scale rat treatment after the New Year, but until the enforcement wardens stop folk piling their rubbish in the street I can’t see anything having much effect.’

Page Hall has previously hit the headlines for its problem with litter and rats, with similar images showing bins overflowing with rubbish and dead vermin on the streets.

Shaun added: ‘It is just an invite to a feast for them. As well as foxes and other vermin – we even have seagulls in the area feeding on the filth.’

Mr Outram has demanded his Labour council leader visit the estate to see the ‘filth’ for herself.

Shocking pictures show the vermin crushed in traps in a problem that Shaun Outram says has being going on for years

A dead rat lies among some of the litter strewn across the estate, which a resident has compared to Dickensian England

‘Ms Dore, I would like you and your team to come round when the council have not been round deep cleaning in front of you,’ he said.

‘You don’t have to live in this filth, why should the many good residents of Page Hall be expected to? It really is like living in Dickensian England.

‘Folk who have reason to be up and about at three or four in the morning report the streets alive with rodents.’

A Sheffield City Council spokesperson said: ‘Environmental Services Pest Control inspectors have visited a number of properties in the area in the last two weeks and have instructed pest control officers to lay treatments where required.

‘We have also requested Yorkshire Water to carry out a programme in the area to which they have confirmed the works as requested.

‘We are working with Yorkshire Water and our colleagues in Streets Ahead are working with Amey on its street cleaning programme.

A rat lies dead after being caught in a trap on the estate in Sheffield, where Mr Outram has been left furious by what he dubbed ‘Dickensian’ conditions

‘We are educating residents to make sure they don’t leave waste in the street, and our Waste Management team is ensuring residents use their domestic bins correctly.

‘Street Wardens are also talking directly to residents and are working with them to ensure their gardens are free from waste and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for littering and fly tipping.

‘More than 80 have been issued since they started being issued in June 2018.

‘Some residents are not reporting problems to us at the earliest opportunity so we would encourage anyone seeing rats or other pest issues in the area to contact us on 0114 2037410.’

Free Starbucks Cards! Layaway Payments! Christmas Caroling! All the Sweet Ways Stars Gave Back This Season

Just as he did in 2017, Mark Ruffalo posted a $100 Starbucks gift card to Twitter and asked fans to use it — and consider refilling it, too. They obliged, and fellow stars like Zendaya followed suit.

“Trying to do this anonymously but, um, due to some circumstances y’all know how nothing stays secret these days,” Tyler Perry said in a Twitter video. “So, I just wanted to go ahead and tell you.”

Perry explained, “If you have a layaway at the Walmart at 844 Cleveland Avenue in East Point, Georgia — in Atlanta — or if you have a layaway at the Walmart at 7001 Concourse Parkway in Douglasville, Georgia — if you have a layaway at either place and it was in there as of 9:30 this morning, it was already in layaway before 9:30 this morning — I have paid for all of your layaways for Christmas.” The star’s generous total? A whopping $434,000.

Just days after Perry’s move, the “Picture” singer followed the act of kindness by paying off layaway items in his hometown.

“Great idea!” the rocker tweeted in response to Perry’s kind deed. “I followed your lead and paid off the layaway at my local Walmart in Nashville. Merry Christmas and God Bless You!” The singer gave $81,000 to close all of the store’s accounts.
