This season of The Walking Dead has seen major changes to the show with lead actor Andrew Lincoln leaving the series. Fans are now gearing up for the finale, titled, The Storm. Here’s what you need to know.

The Walking Dead season nine, episode 16 will air next week.
The Storm will be broadcast on Sunday, March 31 on AMC in the US
It will then on Monday, April 1 in the UK on Fox UK and NOW TV.

The synopsis for The Storm reads: “In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard.
“As one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.”
The Walking Dead season nine, episode 16 trailer sees Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton) and Carol (Melissa McBride) having to cross the border into Whisperer land in order to survive the aforementioned blizzard.
The promo opens with them trying to close doors while Ezekiel says: “We kept trying to hold on.”

“It’s over. The Kingdom fell,” he adds a he leaves his home.
Michonne (Danai Gurira) then says: “This storm could make the roads impassable for weeks,” as snow-covered roads are shown.
The weather continues to get worse and she says: “It’s either we make it to the next waystation or we die.”
Next up, Ezekiel says they have to head through Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) volatile territory, which could possibly trigger yet more conflict.
Alpha has already killed numerous characters – decapitating several in episode 15.
“We didn’t agree to those borders…those borders are her’s, not ours,” Carol protests.
WILL THE WALKING DEAD END AFTER SEASON 9?
Fans will have to wait until next week to see what actually happens.
Showrunner Angela Kang told Entertainment Weekly that the finale will “take a little bit of a left turn”.
“We’ve seen our people go up against enemies. We’ve seen them go to war. We know kind of the rhythms and what that looks like,” she said.
“And we wanted to explore like, ‘Okay, well the Whisperers are a completely different group than we’ve ever encountered before. What’s different about if something like this happens when it’s the Whisperers involved?’
“So we thought that we wanted to tell the beginning of that aftermath here.”
