Haunting pictures have surfaced showing Adolf Hitler as a one-year-old baby.
These chilling photographs of Nazi leaders as children – which have re-surfaced as Saturday marks the 130th anniversary of evil Hitler’s birthday.
The images reveal what some of the most evil and powerful figures of the Third Reich looked like as kids – when no could ever imagined what their future would hold.
Another photograph shows Hitler – who was born on April 20, 1899 – as a wide-eyed ten-year-old child.
At the time he was pictured, Hitler was a schoolboy who enjoyed singing in his church choir in Lambach, Austria and dreamed of becoming a priest.
Instead Hitler went on to become the absolute dictator of Nazi Germany and the orchestrator of the Holocaust and millions of deaths during World War II.
Also featured in the eerie collection is Hitler’s right-hand man Joseph Goebbels when he was just 12-years-old.
Later known for his virulent anti-Semitism, Goebbels was a sickly boy who had frequent bouts of ill health growing up and was born with a deformed right foot due to a congenital deformity.
Goebbels’ disability is all the more ironic given the fact that he was a fierce proponent of the Nazi Party’s ‘Child Euthanasia’ campaign.
This was the name given to organised murder of physically handicapped children and young people who did not fit the Aryan ideal.
Between 1939 and 1941, at least 70,000 people were victims of Goebbels’ programme.
Other images show one of Hitler’s most sinister henchman, Henrich Himmler as a ten-year-old child.
Growing up, Himmler was described as an awkward child with poor health – who became easily nervous in social situations with other boys at school.
Yet he went on to become one of the most powerful men in the Third Reich.
On Hitler’s behalf, Himmler set up and controlled the Nazi concentration camps and directed the killing of some six million Jews.
The World Jewish Congress is calling on governments around the world to condemn and oppose neo-Nazi movements planned on Hitler's birthday.
It said neo-Nazis and extremists are preparing to gather in Sofia and elsewhere in Europe, including events in France, a hiking trip and picnic in Ukraine, a rock concert in Italy and another two conventions in separate locations in Germany.
