Good Morning Britain and Tipping Point presenter Ben Shephard, 46, couldn’t resist teasing his ITV boss Erron Gordon ahead of his departure from the broadcaster. It comes after Erron announced he will be leaving ITV at the end of this year after 13 years.

Ben shared a clip from a recent episode of Tipping Point in view of his 778,000 Twitter followers last night, which prompted Erron, who is the series director of GMB, to ask if he could take part in the game show as a “leaving present”.

However, Ben was quick to shut down his dreams of becoming a contestant, as he remarked he could merely “forward him the application form”.

Erron penned to the presenter: “Can you fix it for me to play this as a leaving present,” alongside several prayer hands emojis.

Ben cheekily quipped in response: “Haha I can def forward you the application form.”

“I expect more from the main man of the Tip,” Erron wrote back, alongside a GIF of a man shaking his head in disappointment.

ITV floor manager Tim Carr then got involved in the conversation, tweeting: “I’ll play against you @errongordon I’d love to have a go.”

Erron promptly replied: “Yes I love this idea! We need one more…..”

ITV camera operator Kathryn Webster then put her name forward to join the team.

“That’s 3 let’s do it!” Erron exclaimed.

After seeing the enthusiastic responses, Ben joked to his colleagues: “Hahaha – I’ll get that link sorted in no time, or I could bring my machine I have a home and we could play on the @gmb desk.”

Ben then shared a snap of a mini Tipping Point-inspired game he has at home.

“That’ll do nicely,” Erron replied, alongside a laughing emoji.

“I’ve had an amazing time working with a brilliant team in front of and behind the camera and I am so proud of the programme I helped launch in 2014.

“I’ve had some incredible opportunities @ITV; launching @itvpeston, directing the prime time leaders debates, #LifeStories & exclusive interviews with @piersmorgan & President Trump as well as travelling the world.

“Not forgetting somehow getting a part in Bridget Jones Baby!”
