Blanco Brown Takes Over Top Spot On Hot 100 Songwriters Chart

Blanco Brown rose to the top of Billboard‘s Hot 100 Songwriters chart dated August 24, riding on the success of his single “The Git Up.”

The song written and produced by Brown, reigned at the top of the Hot Country Songs chart for a sixth week and was at No. 17 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Brown made it to the top on the Songwriters chart for the first time, dethroning Drake, who had risen to No. 1 last week.

Before that, Finneas O’Connell and Billie Eilish tied at No. 1 for three straight weeks. O’Connell stayed on top for nine consecutive weeks, starting from June 15.

O’Connell and Eilish, whose “Bad Guy” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the first time this week, tie at No. 2 on the Hot 100 Songwriters chart.

The weekly Hot 100 Songwriters chart is based on total points accrued by a songwriter for each attributed song that appears on the Hot 100.
