Blink-182 has been confirmed as one of the headliners for Riot Fest 2019, which will be the festival’s 15th anniversary.
Blink-182 were forced to cancel their Riot Fest appearance in 2018 due to Travis Barker‘s medical issues. Weezer had replaced Blink’s headlining slot.
Riot Fest will take place in Chicago, Illinois on September 13-15, 2019. The rest of the lineup has yet to be announced.
Barker, Blink-182’s drummer, was diagnosed with blood clots in both arms in June. He was forced to cancel several dates of the band’s tour, including their appearance at the Riot Festival, as he was told that “drumming will aggravate inflammation in [his] arms.”
Weezer paid a homage to Blink-182 by performing a cover of “All the Small Things” during their headlining set at 2018 Rio Fest.
This year’s Riot Fest featured sets from Beck, Incubus, Dropkick Murphys, Bad Religion, Wolfmother, Pussy Riot, Andrew W.K., GWAR, Bullet for My Valentine, Clutch, Suicidal Tendencies, Fever 333 and more.
