Blue star Lee Ryan has claimed he's got "no money" and is completely broke with no savings after he was fined by a court and banned from diving following an offence last year.
The singer had failed to tell the police who was driving a white Mercedes van registered under his name when it was caught going over the speed limit by speed cameras twice.
Ryan, 38, appeared via video link at the Peterborough Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, 19 August) and was found guilty over the motoring offence.
He was ordered to pay a £1,500 fine and given a 12-month driving ban, but the reality star told the court he has "no money" and used up all of his savings when work dried up during the coronavirus pandemic.
Upon hearing his sentence, Ryan's response was: "I haven't got anything."
"I haven't got that money," the star went on. "I just don't have any money. I'm not working. They stopped the gigs so I don't have any. They've stopped everything because of the pandemic."
"Well they [gigs] are [on] in this country," one magistrate said in reply, but Ryan was adamant he hasn't "got anything".
The magistrates then asked the singer whether he had any savings but Ryan shook his head.
"I spent all my savings in Covid," he told them.
Ryan was first charged with two speeding offences but the prosecution dropped them at the start of today's hearing.

They told the court it was impossible to prove who was driving the car, so the court instead heard how Ryan had failed to respond to notices of prosecution requiring him to tell authorities who was in the driver's seat.
The Mercedes van was photographed travelling at 70mph in a 60mph limit on Fletton Parkway in Peterborough on 8 August, 2020, and caught going 71mph on the same road two weeks later on 22 August.
The former Blue star told the court that his girlfriend Verity Morely, 31, whom he recently welcomed a baby daughter with, was the one responsible for the two offences, insisting he informed the authorities and she now has points on her licence as a result.
The prosecution argued Ryan was referring to a separate speeding offence on 5 September and the August offences were unaccounted for, prompting him to complain he had only read about the charges in the newspapers.

"I got brought up in court for speeding that was already given points to someone else [his girlfriend Verity]," he said. "Where's the justice in that?
"Has there been some kind of mishap or something that's gone wrong? I promise you on my life I did send it off because if I didn't then she wouldn't have the points on her licence."
Ryan was told by the magistrates that his fine must be paid within 12 months but could be paid in instalments, and was warned that if he doesn't pay the money he could be forced to return to court and even face time behind bars.
The star appeared from his home in Spain, where he lives with Verity after moving to the country in November.
