Childish Gambino Pays Tribute To His Father At L.A. Show

Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover paid tribute to his late father during the last stop of his “This Is America Tour.”

During the last show of the “This Is America Tour” at the Forum in Los Angeles on Monday, December 17, Glover revealed some personal news to his fans that his father passed away a few weeks ago. The singer then paid tribute to his late dad during his set.

“I lost my father a couple weeks ago,” Glover told his fans. “I wanted to play him some of the new songs, but he didn’t want to hear them because he was like, ‘I know they’ll be great.’ I’m not saying that to talk about music, I say that to talk about trust.”

Donald Glover’s father was popular among his online fans through his Twitter account @DonaldsDad.

“I lost a lot of good people… I know it’s been a tough year for everybody, that’s what’s crazy. I wish I could change everything for everybody,” he said before performing “Riot.”

Gambino also played some new music from his forthcoming project at the show. Childish Gambino had earlier said at the opening of his “This Is America Tour” that it will be his final tour.
