Christine Lampard can’t wait to get stuck back in to work as she's set to replace Lorraine Kelly on her show for the month of August, a source tells OK!

Christine, 42, is set to make her return five months after welcoming her second child, son Freddie, with football manager husband Frank, 43,

“Christine is so excited about going back to work. She absolutely adores being a mum and has loved the time at home, but she’s one of those people who loves to work,” a source explained to OK!

“She’s filling in for Lorraine – which she adores doing.”

The source continued: “Christine loves being a mum but she’s realised she can do both. She’s adapted very well. Obviously it’s not her first time, but she’s just realised she can juggle both work and motherhood.

“At one time she thought she wouldn’t be able to. She can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Christine is also mum to two-year-old Patricia, and step mum to Frank's daughters Luna, 15, and 13 year old Isla from his former relationship with Elen Rivas.

Christine has stood in for Lorraine on the ITV breakfast show during the school holidays for the past four years.

On Tuesday, she appeared on the show in her first TV interview since giving birth.

The doting mum admitted that she and Frank were “very lucky” to welcome their son to the world together amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

She told viewers: “Frank was about to be there but we were very lucky, there were so many women in the early stages who didn’t have that chance, just dreadful.

“He wasn’t able to go to the appointments leading up but he was there for the big day.”

It comes after Christine posted a picture of her planting a kiss on the cheek of her youngest child Freddie during a lovely lunch together.

The star, who admitted she "hated" watching her husband Frank play football, donned a gorgeous silk cream shirt which she rolled up to her elbows as the family enjoyed a meal out together in London.

Adorable tot Freddie wore a black and white stripped long-sleeve shirt which Christine tucked into his elasticated blue jeans.

She wrote alongside the sweet photograph: “Lunchtime kisses.”
