Martin Lewis, 49, will be co-hosting Good Morning Britain tomorrow alongside Susanna Reid, 50, and admitted the nerves are beginning to set in. The Money Saving Expert founder spoke on Twitter with fellow early riser Dan Walker, 44, about the perils of presenting morning TV.

Petrified of not enough sleep!

On Friday, Martin had typed: “Have a lovely weekend. I’m signing off now, as always, for some family time.

“I’ll see you (if you watch) bright and early on @GMB on Monday morning – sandwiched between @susannareid100 and @CharlotteHawkns.

“Can’t wait (well a bit nervous if honest).”

BBC Breakfast host Dan responded yesterday and wished Martin luck with his exciting new role on rival channel ITV.

He responded: “I’m sure you’ll be great Martin. Welcome to the wide-awake club.”

The 49-year-old could not help but confide in Dan over how his concerns about how he would manage to get in some well-deserved shut-eye.

Martin shared: “Very kind of you Dan.  Don’t know how you do this every day.

“Three days guest presenting already has me petrified of not enough sleep!”

His legion of loyal fans wished him luck with this exciting next chapter in his career.

One commented: “You’ll be fine. Just make sure you hold the government to account in the way that Dan is not allowed to. “

A second replied: “Power nap in the afternoon always helps after a morning shift, don’t worry about the sleep beforehand, you’ll never get ‘enough’ and worrying about it won’t help you get to sleep. Good luck.”

While a third remarked: “Good luck for tomorrow Martin. As someone who worked shifts for year’s, just get what sleep you can. Try to keep going when younger tired later on in the day and then hopefully you’ll be good to get an early night tomorrow.”

Susanna has worked alongside a number of co-hosts including Richard Madeley and Alistair Campbell since Piers Morgan sensationally quit the show back in March.

The Money Saving Expert founder, a guest contributor to the ITV show for many years, says he is “stoked” to be joining Susanna as a presenter.

The consumer champion is vowing to fairly hold “power to account” during his three-day stint in the hot seat from June 28 to June 30.

And if all goes well, it is thought that ITV bosses may offer him a longer run fronting the show, The Mirror reported.

Talking about his new role, the TV star said: “For 15 years I loved answering questions on Good Morning Britain.

“Now I’m stoked about getting the chance to ask them.

“While I hope to set the agenda on key consumer issues like scams and the financially excluded, I’m also up for the challenge of spreading my wings on all subjects.

“And when it comes to holding power to account, I always play fair with a straight bat, but that doesn’t stop me swinging it hard.”
