Former Dancing on Ice head judge Robin Cousinshas thrown his support behind a Gemma Collins critic who branded her a ‘lazy, publicity hungry harridan.’
As head judge Robin had called the shots on the skating show between 2006 and 2014, but did return to the rebooted series last year.
But that hasn’t stopped the former Olympic gold medallist from making his feelings known on the current crop of celebrity contestants.
Robin took to Twitter following Gemma’s epic fall on Sunday night .
It came in response to a tweet from Piers Morgan, who praised the Towie star for recovering so quickly after she face-planted the ice at the end of her routine.
Piers tweeted: "Actually, the gutsiest thing I’ve seen on any talent show for years. Fell flat on her face, probably hurt like hell in every sense, but got up again & received her best score. Bravo @missgemmacollins."
A Twitter user by the name Anne Vosser shot in response: "Oh shut up Piers! You’re unbelievable! She’s a lazy, publicity hungry harridan and yes a very smart cookie!"
The post was then liked by other fans of the series – including former star Robin.
Mirror Online has contacted representatives for comment.
It comes as Gemma finally broke her silence on her nasty tumble on Sunday night.
The star was spotted on her boyfriend James Argent’s Instagam feed as he showed off her painful injuries.
But the GC has now given her own take on what happened.
Sharing a clip of her performance, she wrote: "Absolutely devastated & embarrassed, My heart is broken ❤️ but when I went down I thought of @gypsyking101 Tyson Fury and knew I had to get back up & carry on!
"Can’t thank you enough for your support on social media and picking up the phone to vote! Im in a lot of pain but bring on fantasy week!!! "
Despite the awkward end to her routine, Gemma received her best score yet from the judges and will return to the ice with partner Matt Evers next week.
