Strictly Come Dancing 2021 duo Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis are preparing for this weekend’s final against AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington and John Whaite and Johannes Radebe. Ahead of performing for a final time on the dance floor, the professional dancer today revealed he has had the “best” time with the actress in his six years on the show.

The 31-year-old said: “I’m so happy because I think she really deserves to be there.

“She’s been working very very hard, we both have worked very very hard.

“I think it’s the right thing for her to be in the final.”

Speaking to the pair on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Zoe Ball went on to tell the dancer viewers had seen “another side” to him since he has been performing with the EastEnders star.

“Everyone has noticed it, I think this is our favourite Giovanni ever,” she divulged.

Gushing over his time with Rose, 27, he went on to say: “I think it’s been a fantastic experience, I think it’s been the best I have had in the Strictly experience for sure.

“Rose is quite a determined person as well, she really wants to learn how to dance.

“We’re having fun and I think the reason I think I’m different is because I’m more relaxed.”

The dancer added that while winning the Glitterball trophy would be a dream, he feels they have already won as Rose has inspired many others, particularly in the deaf community.

“We still want to win, don’t get me wrong,” he clarified, as Rose agreed.

The EastEnders star has made history as the show’s first deaf contestant.

Zoe went on to point out there had been a rise in people learning sign language, due to her dancing in the competition.

The actress said she was happy about the impact she had made, adding: “That’s why the Strictly experience for me is more than I expected.”

Rose has been deaf since she was born and relies on timings to get her steps right.

As part of their Couples’ Choice routine last month, the actress gave fans an insight into her life when the pair danced for 10 seconds in silence.

The poignant moment celebrated the deaf community and was certainly a memorable moment on the show.

Giovanni previously admitted he found the moment difficult as he feared he’d miss the next step.

He said on This Morning: “Those 10 seconds you have to think about your steps, you have to keep on the beat, so I was like, ‘Now I understand what she has been doing for eight weeks..

“Those 10 seconds were just powerful, it was just very, very, very good.”

He has previously danced with the likes of; Debbie McGee, Faye Tozer and Georgia May Foote.

Strictly Come Dancing concludes this Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
