Holly Willoughby leads New Year celebrations with a burning 2019

The world of celebrity has said goodbye to 2018 in style with many happy to see the back of the year and for some, putting family at the forefront of new year plans.

From Holly Willoughby to Emily Atack, there were plenty raising a glass to 2019 and they have shared their thoughts and prayers for the 12 months ahead.

Holly Willoughby

After a spell Down Under for I’m A Celebrity, Holly Willoughby is enjoying being back in Blighty.

With a glass of bubbly in hand, she can be seen posingin silhouette with her family, as 2019 burns on a stand in front of them.

She captioned the post with: "2019… as long as you four are beside me … we’ll be just fine."

Emily Atack

After only losing out on being crowned Queen of the Jungle by Harry Redknapp, Emily has had a memorable end to the year that has put the former Inbetweeners star into the hearts of millions.

It is little wonder that she is looking pleased with her work at the end of 2018.

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham

After a summer in which Dani and Jack became the darlings of the Love Island villa, they have found that since their return to the UK, that the glare of the media spotlight can bring a bit of heat to their relationship.

After a rocky few weeks, they seem to be back on course but by the looks of their Instagram snap, Dani was not so keen to play ‘rock, paper, scissors’.

Andy Murray

One person who is glad to see the back of 2018 is British tennis legend Andy Murray.

After spending much of the year recovering from injury, he shared a pic of him quaffing Champers from a bottle as he proclaimed in the caption, "what a s*** year that was!"

Steven Gerrard

The former Liverpool star footballer is now top of the Scottish Premiership as manager of Rangers and Steven Gerrard shared a stunning snap of his family.

Posing in front of a huge Christmas tree, he said that he was ‘ready to go’ for 2019.
