Howard Stern was worried about losing his hair during cancer scare

When Howard Stern faced a 2017 cancer scare — which he kept secret from his listeners — he worried about his hair as much as his internal health.

“I might have been at Sloan Kettering hooked up to a slow drip of chemo and deprived of my Samson-like mane,” writes the 65-year-old reformed shock jock in his new book, “Howard Stern Comes Again.”

“Certainly, I know that losing my hair wouldn’t be the worst of chemo, but just imagine my face with a bald head.”

Stern further told us in an interview that his mountain of curls is all au naturel — and maintained with no dyes or other follicular tricks.

“It is a miracle!” he told us of his ’do. “I don’t have a lot, physically, to brag about. You know. I don’t. I’m no beauty. As I point out, this face without hair would be really, y’know, weird. But I must tell you — and I’ll swear to this on a stack of Bibles — I don’t put any coloring in my hair. And at my age, I have gray in it, don’t get me wrong, but mostly it’s dark hair. And I don’t have any real pattern baldness that I see. I’m really blessed.”

He figures, “I am convinced it comes from my grandfather on my mother’s side . . . My grandfather had dark hair [till 80], and [even then] a full head of hair. I lucked out in that department.”
