Idris Elba’s wife Sabrina gives health update after Luther star tests positive for Coronavirus

Idris Elba's wife Sabrina Dhowre has revealed she and her husband are showing "no symptoms" after he tested positive for Coronavirus.

The 29 year old, who married the Luther actor in Marrakech, Morocco in 2019, took to her Instagram Stories to share the update with her 296,000 followers.

Writing over a black background, Sabrina said: "We are ok! We're both in quarantine with no symptoms.

"It's safe to assume I'll probably test positive but they're aren't enough tests at the moment. I will keep you all updated." [sic]

She added: "Overwhelmed by all the loving messages, thank you," followed by a red heart emoji, before re-sharing a post from Global Citizen on how to help the situation.

The account advises people to "call on G20 leaders to urgently fund" the response to Coronavirus, urge corporations and the public to donate to the World Health Organisation Solidarity Fund, and practice social distancing while frequently washing hands.

Over this, she wrote: "If you can, donate with us".

Idris, 47, announced he had tested positive for the virus on Monday 16 March evening and revealed he's in self-isolation with his wife.

In a video, he announced: “This morning I tested positive for Covid 19.

“I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus.

“Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic."

Idris added that he was tested for the illness after coming into contact with someone who later confirmed that had also tested positive.

“Look, this is serious,” he continued.

“Now is the time to start thinking about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that there are people out there who aren't showing symptoms, and that can easily spread it.

“So now is the time to be really vigilant about washing your hands, and keeping your distance.”

The DJ and rapper isn't the only celebrity to have contracted COVID-19 as actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson also announced that they tested positive for the virus.
