Jason Aldean has explained the story behind proposing a name to the daughter he and his wife Brittany are expecting.
Aldean’s wife, a former NBA cheerleader, is due to deliver any day now, with the baby to be named Navy Rome Aldean.
“Like with [one-year-old son] Memphis, we made a list of names that we liked, and we’d go back every once in a while, and names that had fallen off we’d take off the list,” the country superstar said during a celebration for his most recent No. 1 single, “Drowns the Whiskey.”
“Britt wanted to name Memphis ‘Roman’ and I wasn’t really feeling it. So when it came time for Navy, she asked, ‘Do you care if we give her the middle name Rome?’ and I was like, ‘Works for me,'” Aldean added.
“I wanted them to have unique names — not weird, but unique….felt like both of their names were different. I don’t know anybody else with those names,” according to Aldean.
He made it clear that he has no plans to expand the family any more.
