Jerry O’Connell wants to be Kathie Lee Gifford’s ‘Today’ replacement

Bravo host Jerry O’Connell is ready to take over for Kathie Lee Gifford.

The “Today” show co-anchor announced she’ll be departing the morning show in April after 11 years, and O’Connell, who has filled in on several occasions, would be very interested in sitting alongside Hoda Kotb on a permanent basis.

“Officially, I have not heard anything. I love that format. I love Hoda,” O’Connell shared with E! News. “Hoda is an infectious, beautiful soul. It’s such an exciting time in her life. It would be an honor for anyone who gets to be there with her.”

The “Bravo’s Play by Play” host said most people would be interested in working with Kotb.

“To work with Hoda? Of course! Anybody would be. It would be an honor. Yes, of course,” he continued. “Is it happening? No.”

As Page Six exclusively reported, Jenna Bush Hager is the favorite to take over Gifford’s role. After announcing her departure, Gifford addressed a potential replacement.

“I know somebody wonderful will be sitting in this seat afterwards,” she said. “I have my idea who might be absolutely wonderful. But there’s a great pool of talent and beauty and heart right around here. And if they come from outside the family, they will soon become family because we treat everyone that way.”
