Joe Swash has revealed he and fiancée Stacey Solomon are rushing to finish renovations on their £1.2 million home, dubbed 'pickle cottage', before the arrival of their baby daughter.

The former Eastenders star – who is taking part in Celebrity Masterchef this month – admitted he and Stacey, 31, are "trying to get the house ready" before their new baby comes.

The couple moved into their new home earlier this year and Stacey has been busy posting renovation updates – including a blue loo and pink nursery for the baby – ever since.

Now, speaking to The Sun, Joe, 39, has revealed it's all hands on deck to get things finished. He explained: "We're not so much nervous; this is not our first rodeo, we've done it before, but it is our first girl so it does feel slightly different.

"I'm definitely going to learn how to do French braids and plaiting and stuff, which is so strange because I'm just used to fighting and wrestling.

"We're super excited. We're just trying to get the house ready, get it all straight so that it's nice for when she gets here."

The couple revealed they were expecting their second child together earlier this year with a sweet video announcement and a photo of their family in the garden of the new home. Within the announcement, Stacey said they had been trying for a little while and had suffered miscarriages before this pregnancy.

Later, they revealed the exciting news they are expecting a little girl with a very sweet family announcement.

Stacey and Joe already share two year old son Rex, while Stacey is also mum to Leighton, nine, and Zachary, 13, while Joe has son Harry, 14, from a previous relationship.

Earlier this week, Joe reflected on the moment he knew Stacey was the one after he connected with her in Australia while filming for an I'm A Celeb spin off.

Joe explained to the Mirror: "I met Stacey for the first time when we were doing the spin-off show for, I’m A Celebrity.

“Stacey had come out as a guest for a week and I suppose we had like a week-long date.

“We just spent all our time together, like every single spare second we had we were around one another. So, when she went home, we both realised very quickly how much we missed each other."

Joe, who shares Rex, two, with future wife Stacey, said: “I met her in Australia seven, nearly eight years ago and sparks just flew to be honest. We got on so well and we believed in the same things and wanted the same things in life.

“We both found each other funny and here we are now. We both have a lot to thank I’m A Celebrity for when I think about it.

Joe concluded: "She was the one."
