Jonathan Van Ness is getting ready to kick off Pride celebrations with wedding bells and beer.
In partnership with Elysian Brewing, the “Queer Eye” star is holding a contest for a same-sex couple looking to be married by the grooming guru himself. The lucky couple will tie the knot at the brewery’s Cap Hill Pub in the beginning of June.
“I’m so excited to team up with Elysian Brewing during Seattle Pride to share the message that all people should be free and proud to express themselves as they are,” he told Page Six in a statement. “I can’t wait for June!”
In a promo video for the contest, JVN referenced the controversial Colorado bakery that refused to accommodate a same-sex couple in 2018.
“Last year, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a cake shop owner who wouldn’t bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple,” he explained. “Thankfully, there are so many businesses that do support the LGBTQ community, because it shouldn’t matter who you are, or who you love.”
The wedding officiated by Van Ness will take place on the one year anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling, June 4.
“See you in Seattle,” the TV personality concludes in the video.
