Jussie Smollett’s siblings express their support online

Jussie Smollett’s siblings posted a message of support for their brother on Tuesday and trashed what they labeled the “irresponsible media” for reporting on the embattled “Empire” star.

Instagram feeds for Jocquis Smollett and Jurnee Smollett Bell featured a photo of Malcolm X and a quote attributed to the civil rights leader.

“This is the media, an irresponsible media. It will make the criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal,” the quote reads. “If you aren’t careful, the media will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”

Jocquis, who starred in the food show “Smollett Eats” on Food Network, had previously voiced his staunch support for his brother — who claims he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack last month.

“This is nothing new. These sort of scare tactics and domestic terrorism have been used by cowards for centuries in an effort to control, silence, and dampen the lives of marginalized peoples,” Jocquis posted on Feb. 1 with a photo showing the six Smollett siblings.

“Surviving is in JUSSIE’S BLOOD and his light nor that of our family’s shall be dimmed. Again, we shall do as we’ve been doing the best we know how: heal, continue building, and march forward in the name of accountability and righteousness.”
