Lewis Capaldi responds to critics following Scotland performance

Lewis Capaldi has responded to critics — including Piers Morgan — who spoke out against him for going ahead with a planned concert in Aberdeen despite growing concerns over the Coronavirus pandemic.

The 23-year-old “Someone You Loved” singer gave a concert in his home country of Scotland on Sunday night.

A spokesman for the pop star claimed that the concert was in full compliance with the Scottish government’s advice on mass gatherings. On Monday, Scotland ordered a ban on gatherings of more than 500 people as the number of Coronavirus cases in the UK continues to skyrocket.

A representative for Capaldi told Metro,“The final show of Lewis’s UK arena tour in Aberdeen on Sunday 15th March went ahead in full compliance with the advisory document on mass gatherings issued by the Scottish government at 1pm on the same day.”
