Mark Wright reveals uncle, who is cousin Elliott Wright’s dad, is in ‘critical condition’ in hospital with covid

Mark Wright's uncle and Elliott Wright's dad Eddie is in 'critical condition' in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

The presenter, who previously had his car stolen from his drive, appeared on Monday's Good Morning Britain and gave an update on how coronavirus has affected his family.

The 33 year old said: "My dad is out of hospital, one of my dad's other brothers is in hospital, he's doing okay, he's on oxygen.

"My dad's other brother, uncle Eddie, Elliot's dad, he's not in a good place, he's in a critical condition as we speak and just praying every night we're gonna have a miracle and he's gonna get better.

"We're getting good news from the hospital each day that he's improving, he's not getting worse.

"That's good for now and we've just gotta pray he's gonna be okay," Mark explained.

The former TOWIE star's dad Mark senior is out of hospital now, but Mark says the virus has affected his mental health.

Mark said: "I mean, he's out of hospital and I hope he doesn't mind me saying this but, mentally something's not right there at the moment.

"He's okay but he's not my dad that he was four week ago," the footballer revealed.

"He's better and I'm hoping there's improvement more to come, but it can leave long lasting problems."

Mark's updates come after his sister Jess, 35, said coronavirus has ripped through her family in the past month.

The reality star took to Instagram to share her sad news with her followers.

Posting on her Instagram stories, she said: "COVID has ripped through my family in the past month & it has been absolutely horrendous.

"Please stay safe everyone, stay home, wear masks & also check on loves ones regularly," she urged her fans.

"The fight isn't over for us yet, we are taking every day as it comes and praying a lot. The new strain seems to be spreading like wild fire.

"Thank you for the well wishes to those who have known, for my family members that have been hospitalised by this awful awful virus," Jess concluded.
