Meghan Markle's Baby Shower Will Reportedly Only Have 15 Guests

Meghan Markle, who is reportedly due to welcome her first child with Prince Harry in less than two months, is hosting her baby shower in New York City today. Despite the fanfare, the Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower is reportedly only set to be a small gathering of 15 friends. So, who are the lucky attendees?

Abigail Spencer

Actress Abigail Spencer, Markle’s former costar on Suits, was one of the first guests spotted. She was seen arriving to The Mark Hotel in Manhattan’s Upper East Side to meet up with the royal mom-to-be before they left for lunch together ahead of the baby shower.

Spencer toted a gift in one hand with blue tissue paper, leading some royal watchers to speculate if that means Meghan is having a boy. She and Harry haven’t publicly disclosed the sex of their child yet; they’ve said it’ll be a surprise.

Misha Nonoo

After Spencer and the duchess were seen returning to the hotel, designer Misha Nonoo, another one of Meghan’s good friends, was seen arriving. Hello! photographed Nonoo stepping into The Mark Hotel with a black coat, red scarf, tights, and boots. She was also seen at the royal wedding last year.

Jessica Mulroney

The Duchess of Sussex’s BFF Jessica Mulroney is also expected to be at the fête. The Toronto native has been in town with Meghan since the weekend; they reportedly had macarons and tea at the famed French bakery Ladurée in SoHo on Saturday. Considering all of the help Mulroney reportedly gave Meghan ahead of the royal wedding last year, we wouldn’t be surprised if she had a hand in planning today’s baby shower, too.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

The newly-married Priyanka Chopra Jonas is also expected to fly in for Meghan’s baby shower, royal correspondent Omid Scobie told Good Morning America. However, there’s no sign of the Quantico alum in the Big Apple so far. Earlier today she posted a selfie with a location tag in Beverly Hills, but perhaps that was a digital distraction?

Meghan will be flying back to London tomorrow morning, after a five-day stay in NYC, which included some R&R and much-needed catch up with friends, a source previously told “This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.”

Who wasn’t in attendance?

Meghan’s hubby Prince Harry was M.I.A. and stayed behind in London for a work engagement with a children’s charity today. The duchess’ mother, Doria Ragland, was spotted walking her dog in L.A. this morning on the opposite end of the country as her daughter. Meghan’s royal sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, was also noticeably absent.

However, Meghan and Harry will reportedly have another baby shower for their friends at the U.K. after they traveled to Morocco at the end of the month, Scobie reports. Perhaps the rest of the family will get to celebrate baby Sussex at party number two.
