Peter Kay headed to the Lowry Theatre in Salford on Sunday evening to attend the launch of Bob Harris and Danny Baker’s tour, The Backstage Pass. The 48-year-old comedian posed for pictures with the pair before they took to the stage for their delayed show.

Peter, who took a break from the spotlight four years ago, appeared to be in good spirits as he smiled alongside the duo.

He sported a dark polo shirt and blue jeans for the occasion.

Meanwhile Danny, 64, and Bob, 75, opted for black and white patterned shirts for their stint on stage.

It was the latter, also known at Whispering Bob, who posted the picture online ahead of the gig.

“Lads. Pre-show,” he captioned the snap, in view of his 25,900 followers.

Many took to the comments section of their post to share their delight at seeing Peter in the picture.

“You all look great but especially nice to see Peter Kay,” added josieapples.

“Lovely to see you Bob and Danny but Peter, I have a tear in my eye, it is beyond wonderful to see you!!!” tracy_cartmell added.

“Aww it’s so lovely to see Peter Kay pictured…” agreed sarahyeosings.

“Now, that’s a line up,” Instagram user soniawbradford remarked, referring to the three men.

Sharing a similar thought, musicman53 wrote: “Now that’s a new trio I’d pay to see! “When’s your first album being released? Bob what really amazes me is, how the hell do you get a word in with those two on full swing?!”(sic)

Bob and Danny’s tour kicked off last night, 18 months later than planned due the coronavirus pandemic.

The show sees the duo recall their many years backstage with a host of music legends, telling stories and spilling the beans on their behind-the-scenes antics.

“Absolutely cannot wait,” the music presenter told his fans ahead of the first show.

Back in 2017, stand-up comedian Peter took a step back from the limelight and cancelled all of his scheduled gigs due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.

The star, who is married with three children, did not share any further details but said that “family must always come first”.

Peter has made a few brief TV and radio appearances in the years that have followed.

In August 2021, he returned to the stage to perform a special two-night gig in aid of Laura Nuttall.

The 21-year-old was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive brain tumour, in 2018.

He also appeared on The Big Night In, a Comic Relief and Children in Need partnership, four months prior to that.
