Paul Burrell has claimed that he doesn’t “recognise” Prince Harry and that the Duke of Sussex will be “broken” when he “realises what he’s done” after speaking out about life in the royal family.

Princess Diana’s one-time butler and close confidant Paul Burrell has said that Harry is going to cause himself “so much more pain” and that “only Meghan can stop him from doing these interviews."

After stepping away from royal life, Harry's media presence has increased and in recent months he's sat down for a tell-all chat with Oprah Winfrey and teamed up with the iconic chat show host for an Apple TV+ series.

The butler told Closer: “Doing what he's doing is only going to cause him so much more pain. I don't recognise him now – he's almost become the centre of his own world. He's hurting his family and saying things that I think he'll regret."

He ominously added: "Meghan has encouraged him to get therapy and change his way of thinking – but I think he'll be left broken when this all stops and he realises what he's done."

Paul’s comments come after the release of Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry's bombshell Apple TV+ series, The Me You Can’t See.

In the multi-part documentary, Harry spoke about his childhood and the grief of losing his mother when he was just 12 years old.

He also revealed that Meghan encouraged him to seek therapy to address his childhood trauma, as he told Oprah: “I quickly established that if this relationship was going to work, I had to deal with my past."

He added: "When she said, 'I think you need to see someone,' it was in reaction to an argument that we had. And in that argument, not knowing about it, I reverted back to 12 year old Harry.”

Paul Burrell famously worked for Princess Diana and Prince Charles, as well as for the Queen.

The 62-year-old also signed up for I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of Here in 2004, where he entertained viewers with terrified squeals during bushtucker trials.

The royal family have reportedly taken Harry’s recent remarks personally, and have been “deeply upset” according to a Mail on Sunday insider.

A source told the publication: "Harry’s grandmother has taken this very personally and is deeply upset by what Harry has said, in particular his comments about Charles’s parenting and suggesting his father knows no better because of how he was brought up. It has been a very upsetting time."
