Rebecca Adlington announces lockdown pregnancy with second child due in February

Rebecca Adlington has revealed to fans that she is expecting her second child after getting pregnant in lockdown.

The Olympic swimmer, 31, shared a photo of her and her boyfriend Andrew Parsons, 30, holding a baby scan as she cradled her belly.

Her daughter Summer, five, from her ex-husband Harry Needs, 28, was also pictured wearing a t-shirt reading ‘Promoted to big sister’ as she celebrated the upcoming arrival.

Rebecca wrote alongside the picture: ‘Andy and I are excited to announce that we’re expecting.

‘Summer can’t wait, she asks everyday to check my belly to see if it’s growing. Going to be a long wait until the end of feb! @andrewparsons5 #pregnant#14weeks #pregnancyannouncement#nosocialdistancinghere’.

She also shared a cute TikTok video on her Instagram story showing Summer transforming into a fairy godmother before waving her wand to reveal the baby scan in front of Becky’s stomach.

The news comes after Becky and Andrew spent lockdown with her ex-husband Harry and his pal Michael Gunning so that he could be with their daughter for months of social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rebecca and Harry split in 2016 after 18 months of marriage but remain on good terms and both spend time with Summer.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Their arrangement is very amicable and they’re doing what’s best for Summer.

‘They still get on really well despite their split, so why not? And Harry’s friend Michael is close with the others too.

‘They’re all really enjoying each other’s company and, what with their shared interest in swimming, it was a no-brainer.’

Becky and property manager Andrew got together in 2018 following the end of her marriage.

The former I’m a Celebrity campmate is due to give birth to their first child together in February, and it sounds like the whole family are counting down the days until their new bundle of joy arrives.
