Simon Konecki ‘in line for half of Adele’s £150million fortune’ after split

Adele secretly split from husband Simon Konecki last year – and now he could be in line for half of her her £150million fortune.

It is claimed the pair could have called in a day as early as last summer, and that they did not sign a pre-nup agreement before tying the knot in 2016.

They admitted defeat long before Friday's announcement, The Sun report.

They accepted their three-year marriage was over in a statement – but it appears they could have been hitched for under two years when they went their separate ways.

Megastar Adele, one of the world's biggest selling singers, first dated charity entrepreneur Simon back in 2011.

She shocked New York last month when she partied in one of the city's gay clubs with A-list pal Jennifer Lawrence.

The pair were pictured on stage with drag queens and knocking back shots into the early hours.

But that wild night out in fact acted as a secret divorce party, it is claimed.

“Adele started telling close friends and family about the split a couple of months ago," a source revealed:

“Jennifer was one of the first she told. The pair later arranged a double celebration — Adele to raise a glass to her future, and Jennifer to celebrate her engagement.

“The girls have the same dark sense of humour that made them think it was funny. It was a brilliant night.

“They tried everything in their power to stay together but in the end the time they were spending apart became too extreme.

“Simon has no interest in red carpets, showbiz parties or being on the scene, whereas Adele has been back in the recording studio of late, and is ready to get out and mingle again.

“She has a great social circle with a bunch of strong Hollywood women who love her for her humour and down-to-earth ways.

“They enjoy spending time at each other’s pads in LA and New York, hosting dinners and movie nights. At the same time Simon has been travelling to oversee projects.

"His passion for his cause and his success just took him away from his wife. They drifted in different directions.”

Documents appear to show Adele, 30, sold their £3m UK home back in February and that she transferred ownership of a house in LA to Simon in January.

In a short statement late on Friday night, the singer's representatives announced the split.

They vowed that they will continue to raise their son Angelo, 6, together

"Adele and her partner have separated," the statement said.

"They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy.

"There will be no further comment."

Adele and Simon – a timeline

2012

Adele, who is notoriously private, reportedly started dating charity boss Konecki in 2011 and they were first pictured together on holiday in Florida in January 2012.

In June that year, a 24-year-old Adele announced she was expecting her first child, confirming the news on her blog.

She wrote: "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.

"I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

The couple's son, Angelo was born on October 19 2012. Adele would later describe motherhood as "hard but phenomenal". She added: "It's the greatest thing I ever did."

2014

Adele took a break from performing following the enormous success of her 2011 album 21, and her Oscar win for the theme from James Bond film Skyfall.

The singer denied being a "recluse" and in December 2014 took the rare step of issuing a public statement on her private life.

She dismissed reports she had split from Konecki, writing on Twitter : "Just wanted to wish everyone happy holidays & all the best for 2015! PS Simon & I are still very much together, don't believe what you read x."

2017

Adele and Konecki tied the knot in a secret ceremony in 2016 but thanks to her closely guarded private life, managed to keep the news under wraps.

However, she confirmed she had walked down the aisle while picking up the Grammy for album of the year in February 2017.

During an emotional acceptance speech, she said: "My husband, my son, you're the only reason I do it."

And she removed any doubt over her marital status a month later during a concert in Australia.

While discussing her worldwide hit Someone Like You, which is about a break-up, she said: "Obviously I can't go through with those feelings because I'm married now. I've found my next person."

2019

Adele announced she and Konecki had separated and promised to raise Angelo "together lovingly".

Representatives for the star said: "Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy."
