Scottish movie star and former British lightweight boxing champion Bradley Welsh was reportedly shot dead in Scotland Wednesday night.
Welsh, 42, who rose to fame playing the role of a gangland boss in the British movie “Trainspotting 2,” was shot in the head following a disturbance about 8 p.m. local time on a Edinburgh street, according to the The Sun.
Without identifying Welsh as the victim, local authorities said, “His death is being treated as suspicious and inquiries are continuing. Officers will continue to provide a high-visibility presence in the area to engage with the public, offer reassurance and gather information that can assist with this investigation.”
Welsh owned Holyrood Boxing Gym in Edinburgh and had been offering programs to help kids stay out of trouble, The Sun reported.
Before kicking off his acting career, Welsh was a British ABA Lightweight boxing champ.
He gained notoriety by playing the role of Doyle in the 2017 British hit-flick “Trainspotting 2,” which netted about $18 million in box office sales, according to IMDB.
