Zoe Ball and Lauren Laverne bond over radio anxiety

BBC radio stars Zoe Ball and Lauren Laverne have both been “hugging” it out after suffering anxiety.

Zoe took over from Chris Evans on Radio 2 while Lauren Laverne replaced Shaun Keaveany on 6Music.

Lauren told the Mirror at last night’s National Television Awards: “I’ve seen Zoe Ball quite a few times in the corridors, to give each other a little hug and talk about it.

“I have had an anxiety dream where I get to the studio and I can’t find it so I have to dig through a forest to get there, or I get there and none of the controls work. So we were laughing about that and sharing our anxiety.”

And the pair are planning a party to celebrate their new roles.

Lauren – who is currently answering calls for The FeelGood Hotline (020 3954 1844) as part of new digital bank Zopa – adds: “I’ve been thinking about it, and that would be so lovely. It feels like we are part of a gang really. It feels great to be a woman on radio now.”
