Meghan Markle's baby will share a birthday with potential godfather George Clooney and former PM Tony Blair

MEGHAN Markle gave birth to her first child today and the new baby will share a birthday with the duke and duchess’s celebrity pal George Clooney.

The new royal tot arrived this morning at 5.26am weighing 7lb 3oz and Prince Harry gushed the "little thing is absolutely to die for".

The baby shares a birthday with actor George Clooney, who turns 58 today and is rumoured to be a potential godparent.

And the Hollywood star isn’t the only famous face to be celebrating their special day today.

Other birthdays on May 6 include former prime minister Tony Blair, Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett, 24 actress Leslie Hope and rock singer Bob Seger.

Also born today is former footballer and manager Graeme Souness, author Jeffery Deaver and Precious actress Gabourey Sidibe.

George Clooney is said to have been friends with Meghan for years, after the pair were introduced by Soho House director Markus Anderson.

The Clooney’s cut a fashionable figure as they were pictured at the royal wedding last May.

And Prince Harry and Meghan also visited them at their Lake Como home after the nuptials, and Amal attended Meghan’s £300,000 lavish baby shower in New York.

Amal also treated Meghan to a private jet back to the UK after the star-studded bash.

Meghan’s new baby boy nearly shared a birthday with a number of famous royals.

Prince Louis' first birthday took place on April 23, the Queen's 93rd birthday was on April 21 and Princess Charlotte's fourth birthday was just days go on May 2.

The Royal tot is believed to have been born in the sanctuary of Frogmore Cottage – the Sussexes' home on the Windsor Estate.

Beaming Prince Harry couldn't stop gushing as he announced Meghan had given birth to a "very healthy baby boy" this morning.

Speaking from Windsor, Harry said: "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.

"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we're both absolutely thrilled.

"We're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it's been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody."

Prince Harry hinted that wife Meghan Markle had a natural birth of Baby Sussex.

And a body language expert said Harry looked 'overwhelmed' with happiness after the birth.
