‘Very stylish’ Queen Maxima turns heads in huge earrings

Queen Maxima was pictured putting two of her old pairs of jeans in the shredder during her visit to Mudjeans yesterday, November 23, in Laren, in the Netherlands. Mudjeans is the winner of the King Willem prize and produces sustainable jeans.

Queen Maxima demonstrated her dedication to sustainable fashion and the recycling of clothes as she visited Mudjeans yesterday.

Maxima is a fan of fashion and always chooses flattering outfits for royal engagements. Yesterday, the Dutch Queen wore a relaxed jacket with a pair of stylish trousers.

Her jacket was charcoal-coloured and had a wide collar, pockets, and a chunky belt around the waist.

It was by Natan Couture and called the Noa Twill Belted Coat in Grey. Maxima has worn the garment before – once in December 2020, once in March 2021, and once earlier this year in February.

The coat is no longer available to purchase online, but when it was in stock, it was also on offer in a sandy beige colour.

Maxima paired the coat with a pair of blue-grey trousers, which were slightly wide-legged. It is not known where the trousers are from.

Underneath her jacket, the Dutch Queen wore a grey polo neck, and accessorised with other grey pieces.

She donned a pair of suede grey heels by Gianvito Rossi, which seems to be a favourite brand among the royals. Everyone from Crown Princess Mary of Denmark to Queen Letizia of Spain owns the Italian brand’s shoes.

The heels Maxima donned today were called the Gianvito 105 Fumo Grey Suede Pumps.

On its website, Gianvito Rossi described the shoes, saying. “Light grey suede pump from Gianvito Rossi. The Gianvito Pump has a classic silhouette with a 105mm stiletto heel and a pointed toe.”

Interestingly, other royals, as well as Maxima, own a pair of these exact heels. They have been worn by Crown Princess Mary on a number of occasions over the last few years – she was first seen donning them back in March 2015.

Princess Madeleine also wore the shoes in June 2015, and they have been worn by Queen Mathilde since 2019.

Yesterday, Maxima completed her look with a Chanel bag – it was the Classic Jumbo Double Flap Bag in Grey. The bag was quilted and featured the iconic Chanel symbol.

Maxima’s hair was tied in a neat bun at the back of her head and she wore her usual make-up of dark eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. She brightened her face with a slick of pink lipstick.

The Dutch Queen is a fan of eye-catching earrings, and she donned a dangling pair that featured glistening diamantés and a shiny, silver ball. These matched her outfit well.

Royal fans were quick to comment on Maxima’s look, with some praising it, while others were not as impressed.

Instagram user @margaretavandervloet said: “Maxima looks stylish. Love this outfit – simple but elegant.” Elaine Susan wrote: “I like the jacket with the blue trousers!”

User @nnsltnn commented: “She looks very stylish, I love the combination of colours.” Rachel Hannam added: “Love the jacket but not with the trousers and shoes.”

Maxima has been busy in recent days and appeared for a royal engagement on Tuesday, November 22, too. To visit the Our Colonial Heritage exhibition at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, Maxima wore a dress and a cape by Natan Couture.

Called the Fusse Cape and the Floride Dress, the garments were brown and tweed-like. Maxima accessorised with a chunky black belt and matched this with black leather boots, which were knee-high.
