Woman shares SAVVY way to use up all those annoying leftover wrapping paper bits (&save yourself buying more this year)

THE countdown is on – just over a month worth of sleeps until it's finally Christmas, our favourite and the most fabulous time of the year.

As well as getting excited over the copious amounts of mulled wine to look forward to and stuffing ourselves with roast dinner, we also have to start thinking about Christmas presents for our loved ones – and the frustrating process of having to wrap it all.

Lauren Campanella, a self-proclaimed “DIY Artsy Woman'', has found a crafty way to use up all those small bits of gift wrapping paper that aren't big enough to use for separate presents.

You know which ones we're talking about – the ones that have been sitting in your cupboard or in a box for the last decade.

Instead of throwing them away, Lauren suggests a more eco-friendly approach – and not only will it save you money, but also make your gifts stand out!

To achieve that''Oh, this looks fun!'' look, the craft-loving DIY expert suggests grabbing one solid colour paper – she's using a brown one from a different project – and one with a pattern.

''And you can flip flop this – if you want, wrap the whole gift in a pattern and then put the solid on the top!''

“I think that would look wonderful as well!''

Have some leftover ribbons?

The Harry Potter saga fanatic recommends adding that on top of the existing ribbon for a more glam look – this will definitely make your gift packaging look expensive and done professionally.

To add some extra oomph, you can also make the most of whatever tiny scraps of paper you have left by cutting these into cute to&from tags.

“Gives it a nice little extra touch!'' says Lauren.

With Christmas just a few weeks away, many have already begun dealing with everything present-related, and some were wondering what to do with unusually shaped gifts that don't come into neat boxes.

“Like it…what about wrapping a doll?!''

Another Christmas enthusiast asked: “How would you wrap a ball?!''

Lauren promised to get back to this: “Oooooo tricky but good one. Let me give it a try!''
