Aston Merrygold managed to find a way around the current restrictions, bringing the soft play centre home for his son’s birthday.

The JLS star didn’t let closures get in the way of Grayson celebrating his big day transformed their home into an indoor playground.

In a video made for TikTok, soft play equipment has been installed throughout the family home's entire ground floor.

Two storeys of play equipment including a full-size ball pit were waiting to surprise the three-year-old on his special day.

“We turned our house into an indoor soft play playground,” Aston wrote in the clip.

The singer then gets to grips with the equipment, taking fans with him to the theme of Aesthetic by Xilo.

He then says “Follow me!” before revealing the second part of the birthday surprise.

Taking fans upstairs, the second floor is a superhero-themed pop-up cinema and sleepover room complete with festival inspired tipis to sleep in.

“We surprised our son with a lockdown birthday to remember!” the video says as the camera pans round to show off the incredible setup.

Later, Aston adds: “Lockdowns won’t stop us!” as he zooms in to every detail including personalised balloons with Grayson's name written on them.

The lucky three-year-old was blown away by the surprise and according to Aston: "He spent about an hour saying thank you!”

Spiderman is playing on the projector screen, and the superhero theme came with dad’s stamp of approval after Aston recently said that he would “love” to be an actor and that a Marvel or DC film would be “the dream”.

He told The Sun: "Acting feels like the natural next step. I am going back to my roots. It is something I love to do.

"You know, I am a real comic book geek at heart so anything like a role in a Marvel or a DC production would be the dream.

"It'll be good for people to see me in a different light and with a different dynamic and role too… It's where I see my future."

However, Aston has the small matter of the JLS reunion to deal with before hitting Hollywood.

The planned tour had to be delayed due to the pandemic. However, JLS are due to hit the stage this year, and Aston says they are already planning things in a band What’s App group.

He said: "We've got our WhatsApp group that we're always talking on… We can't wait until the tour. It's going to be incredible."
