Bella Hadid has got everyone highlighting their jaws – but does it cheat a defined shape?

If, like us, you spend a lot of your spare time scrolling through TikTok, it’s likely you’re familiar with the highlighting hack that’s giving beauty fans on the app that snatched look. "Jaw-lighting”, or jaw highlighting, sees makeup lovers apply highlighter to their jawline to accentuate their bone structure. The person behind the game-changing trend?Bella Hadid. The supermodel went viral when fans noticed her glowing jawline in a stream of selfies she shared to her Instagram grid.

In the post shared with her 49 million followers, Bella wears her hair tied back and appears to have applied highlighter right above her jaw, giving her a sculpted, defined look.

Highlighter – whether powder or liquid – is usually reserved for the cheekbones, Cupid’s bow or the bridge of the nose. But thanks to the supermodel, jaw-lighting appears to be the latest makeup craze and users on TikTok are attempting the look themselves. In one video shared by [email protected], the beauty fan preps her skin with Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter,£34 here, before applying a small strip of the brand’s Beauty Light Wand,£29 here, right above her jaw.

Showing off the results to her followers, Jaclyn says: “Oh, it’s glow. Oh this is so good, you’ve got to try it out.”

Another beauty fan @rachelocoolmua takes the hack one step further and applies a contour product underneath her jawline to help the highlight stand out even more. She applies a layer of Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand, £29 here, and blends it down towards her neck using a foundation brush like this one,£5.99 here. Then the makeup fan uses a small amount of highlighter above the contour for a subtle glow.

Posing for the camera, Rachel shows off her new “snatched” jawline, telling fans: “Guys, isn’t it cute, it’s just like the littlest thing, wow.”

Users on TikTok appear equally as impressed with the results, with many flocking to the comment section to share their thoughts.

“It looks like you’re in a Vogue beauty video,” one fan writes.

“Bella Hadid who,” another says, while a third comments: “It works mamas, it works.”

“Wait a sec. You did something here,” another adds.

Now, we’re fully aware that Bella Hadid is already blessed with impeccable bone structure, but if these results from TikTok are anything to go off, jaw-lighting is a great way to fake the supermodel look for less.
