I’m A Celebrity star Beverley Callard played the endearing barmaid Liz McDonald on Coronation Street for more than 30 years before she waved the cobbles ta-ra for good earlier in 2020.
But it’s not the veteran actress’ time on the smash-hit ITV soap that has got campers – and viewers – talking. It’s her legendary fitness videos.
Radio One DJ Jordan North – currently being tipped as an early favourite to win – recalled his mum being "obsessed" with Beverley’s fitness videos while he was growing up in the 1990s. Jordan thought she was wearing leopardskin, Bev says it was a zebra print leotard.

But embarrassingly for Bev, I’m A Celebrity viewers accused her of telling a little white lie during Monday night’s explosive instalment ofI’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Hereafter she lifted the lid about her majorly successful fitness video, Rapid Results.
The much-loved soap star proudly told her campmates that Rapid Results was such a success that it knocked the film Heat, which starred Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, off the top of the charts.
“I love fitness, I love teaching it and I’ve done it for 40 odd years? Which is scary in itself,” Beverley, 63, said in the Bush Telegraph. “I still teach classes; I still teach three a week!”

In her hit video Rapid Results, Bev designed a regime specifically to give maximum results in the shortest time.
"Yes, you can transform your body,” she insisted at the time. “How many times have you promised that you would reduce those inches around your waist, bottom, hips or thighs? This workout will do it and more!”
She also claimed that Rapid Results reached number one on the UK video charts.

However, eagle-eyed fans did some snooping after Monday night’s episode and found that Beverly’s iconic recording was actually prevented from reaching the top spot by Disney’s Toy Story, leaving her at number two in January 1997.
In her defence however, it seems more probable that Beverley got her years mixed up as in 1996, the star's first fitness video, Real Results DID indeed reach number one on the video charts.
"With two children and a full-time job in Coronation Street, people often ask me how I can manage to stay in shape,” she said at the time to promote it. “Well, it hasn’t been easy."
"Bad eating habits and a hectic lifestyle led me to put on weight and feel tired and run-down.
"I decided to do something about it…and in this video I share with you my workout secrets.” At 63, we say, you’re looking pretty good to us, Bev.
