Award season is done and dusted for another year but thankfully, the South of France is delivering us plenty of swoon-worthy red carpet moments thanks to the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
The annual event is all about celebrating the latest movies and their stars – which, of course, means there are also plenty of red carpets and premieres.
Over the years, we have seen many stars and supermodels grace the festival in an array of breath-taking ensembles and there are very few off the rack designs here.
The festival website tells attendees that they “must dress to impress for a very formal evening,” adding: “Short skirts aren’t recommended, and it’s worth keeping the heels sensible.”
With this in mind, most A-listers turn to haute couture and while this year’s Cannes has only just started, there’s already no shortage of stunning outfits we’re lusting over.
Here are our favourites so far…
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria set the bar high for this year’s event on day one, as she stepped out in a phenomenal sheer floor length gown by designer Alberta Ferretti.
The gothic-inspired look comes with a huge £7,105 price tag and is adorned with intricate cut-out detailing and embellished with large black sequins to cover the star’s modesty.
Eva completed the look with a nostalgic accessory – a thin black velvet choker.
As if one look wasn’t enough, Eva swapped her super glam outfit for a chic black jumpsuit for an afterparty.
The 47 year old ticked all of the style boxes in the simple tailored number, which left her sporting a striking resemblance to Cheryl Cole.
The long-sleeve ensemble came with another choker style strap around the sta’rs neck, as well a jaw-dropping plunging neckline.
A true legend and professional when it comes to the Cannes Film Festival is Indian actress Deepika Padukone.
If you haven’t seen any of the brilliant films that she has starred in, then you will certainly know her from her countless amazing looks from past Cannes festivals.
The 36 year old went for a clean yet eye-catching number for her first outfit at this year’s event, in a black and gold striped sequin dress.
The traditional sari outfit paid tribute to India but Deepika added a glamorous Hollywood spin as she styled it with a matching black bralette instead of the traditional crop top.
Hollywood royalty Julianne Moore kept it classic and chic in a black Bottega Veneta gown.
The 61 year old kept the ensemble simple but added a touch of drama with a deep plunging neckline that perfectly showed off her twinkling diamond and emerald necklace.
She pushed back her auburn hair behind her ears and opted for a black smokey-eye make up look.
English actress Lashana Lynch is no stranger to movie premieres, having starred in Captain Marvel, as Maria Rambeau, as well as the latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die.
The 34 year old oozed pure glamour in a white high neck sleeveless gown by designer label Fendi.
The dress came with an intricate lace pattern down the front with two coordinating white straps which tied the dress together at the sides.
We love a colour clashing moment and that’s exactly what English actress and film director Rebecca Maria Hall did.
The 40 year old managed to pull off the controversial colours of pink and red by sporting a flawless custom gown by Gucci.
No only was it bursting with colour, but it also came with a bellowing pleated skirt and long sleeves which were embellished with red feather cuffs — so fabulous.
13 Reasons Why actress Katherine Langford absolutely floored us in a silver floor length gown by Prada.
The metallic outfit was covered with thousands of mirrored sequins which perfectly reflected the flashes of the paparazzi’s cameras.
The 26 year old was looking super confident as she walked the red carpet with her dramatic matching train behind her.
