Dancing On Ice star Nile Wilson’s life off screen with stunning girlfriend Hermione

Retired Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson has definitely impressed so far on Dancing On Ice, with him and his professional skating partner Olivia Smart continuing to top the leaderboard each week.

Nile, 26, who is an athlete from Leeds, is one of the many celebrities competing on this year's series of the hit ITV show, and if his first few performances are anything to go by, it seems he may be one to watch.

The former artistic gymnast signed up for the skating show following his retirement from professional gymnastics in January 2021, branding it an "unbelievable opportunity".

Here we take a look into Nile's life away from the ice…

Nile, who hails from Leeds, is the great nephew of cricket legend Duncan Fearnley and started his gymnastics career aged five at Leeds Gymnastics Club.

He has won 11 medals throughout his career, including five gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, and in 2016 he became the first British gymnast to win the bronze medal at the horizontal bar event.

In January 2021, Nile announced he was officially retiring from gymnastics as his body "couldn't keep up", but told fans it was "time to move on" and shared his excitement for his "next chapter".

Alongside gymnastics, Nile also runs a successful Youtube channel which has over 1.5million subscribers. He regularly shares videos about everything from family and mental health to his career.

According to his Instagram, Nile is loved-up with new girlfriend Hermione Wilson, who we appeared to go Instagram official with in October 2022. The couple have shared a handful of photographs together online, but have not disclosed how long they've been an item for.

Before his current relationship, Nile dated Gabrielle Paige and also enjoyed a romance with Cirque Du Soleil artist Emily McCarthy. He and Emily collaborated on a number of Youtube videos throughout their relationship.

Nile has shared his determination to do well on Dancing On Ice and ahead of his first live show in January, he revealed he believes he could go all the way be crowned the winner of the 2023 series.

I’m going to win. I’m winning this show for sure," Nile said ahead of the series launch. "Of course, I’m in it to win it but I just want to have a great time, learn a lot. I’ll be like a sponge absorbing information."

He also shared what he hopes to achieve on Dancing On Ice, aside from winning, adding: "One of my biggest goals regardless of winning or wherever I place in the show is that I’m really passionate about doing something that no one has ever done before – that’s going to be my number one focus.

"Hopefully the public and everyone watching will enjoy that and keep me in it."

Nile is competing alongside professional ice dancer Olivia Smart, 25, who boasts a glittering career on the ice.

She represented Spain at the 2022 Winter Olympics and alongside skating partner Adrián Díaz, she was a four-time Challenger Series medalist and a three-time Spanish national champion.

Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday on ITV1.
