With the weather growing colder many of us are wearing extra layers to keep warm, but H&M has found a new use for the trusty hoodie – as a skirt.
As part of its collaboration with Moschino, the Swedish brand is selling a grey skirt in a jersey tracksuit material, which features a hood attached to the back – making the mini resemble a hooded top that has been tied around the waist.
The bizarre item – which H&M is selling for £34.99 a pop – has left shoppers scratching their heads.
One tweeted: ‘If this is today’s fashion then grab me a binbag to wear. Skirt with a hood??? Are you having a laugh @HM?’

The skirt appears to be zipped up from the front and the hood is worn at the back of the body.
It comes with a drawstring and two front pockets, with an elasticated hem at the bottom just like those found on a regular hoodie.

A third said:’I don’t think @hm know what a hood is for. please tell me what i do with a hood on a skirt.’
‘Ah yes, because what we all really need is a skirt with a hood,’ another joked.

The H&M and Moschino collaboration caused a stir when it appeared in stores last month.
Queues snaked along high streets in London and items appeared on auction site eBay just hours after they sold out on H&M’s website.
The Moschino range is just the latest in a succession of lucrative high-fashion collaborations for the Swedish high street giant.
H&M’s previous partnerships with Kenzo, Versace and Isabel Marant flew off the shelves with pieces being flogged for up to four times the price on eBay.
