Holby City spoilers: Kian is tested, and Jodie fights for Sacha

Trouble comes right to Kian (Ramin Karimloo)’s door in tonight’s Holby City when Sarah Jane (Rosa Escoda) – the woman who supplies him with those little white pills he’s trying his best not to take any more – arrives at the hospital with a patient for him. The patient has overdosed on drugs supplied by Sarah Jane and, even worse, she’s an MP.

In the hope of avoiding a scandal and the police getting involved, Sarah Jane uses the hold she has over Kian to get him to treat the MP and keep everything hushed up. That’s got to be a stressful situation for Kian, and he’s got Jac (Rosie Marcel)’s beady eye on him too. Will all this pressure and the fact that his dealer is right there on the spot mean he’ll soon be reaching for the little white pills he’s trying so hard to resist?

Last week Sacha (Bob Barrett) proposed to Jodie (Sian Reese-Williams) in a move that shocked his friends and colleagues. This week Jodie is already going full bridezilla as she moves ahead with the wedding plans – possibly because she’s worried in case Sacha will change his mind.

When Sacha’s daughter Beka (Francesca Barrett) arrives to see him, how will she react to meeting her father’s new fiancée? And will she be able to talk sense into him where others have failed? Jodie decides to go all out to make sure that won’t happen.

Cameron (Nic Jackman) uses his new position on the board to get a colleague into trouble, but when Nicky (Belinda Owusu) hears about it she decides she’s going to stick up for her boyfriend. Chloe (Amy Lennox) tries to persuade her that Cameron isn’t all he seems and that she doesn’t trust him at all. Who will Nicky believe – her best friend or her boyfriend?

Meanwhile Max (Jo Martin) is struggling financially, as she’s been secretly propping up the hospital’s finances and paying for agency nurses with her own credit cards. Will she get any sympathy from Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw)?

And Alex (Miles Mitchell) tries to get a festive atmosphere going, but Donna (Jaye Jacobs) and Dominic (David Ames) aren’t feeling it.

Sue Haasler is the author of five novels and the official BBC Holby City book, which you can read about here.

Holby City continues tonight at 7:50pm on BBC One.
