I FEEL I struggle with man-related issues because I have never really had anyone close for long enough to talk to about them.
My dad died when I was 12 and my grandfather died when I was a toddler. I’m a guy of 17.
I’ve no close male relatives. Mum is always there for me and I have two older sisters but they all see things from a female point of view.
I know they cannot help that but it does not help me.
There is no man to talk to about my worries or innermost feelings.
DEIDRE SAYS: I understand how difficult that feels as you make the transition from being a boy to being a man.
You’ve suffered painful bereavements and it will help to find understanding for that, especially from a male perspective.

Talking a male counsellor or mentor could help too. This is something your school should be able to arrange.
