Inside EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick’s rustic home with stunning balcony views and woodburning stove

EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick sure has a cosy place to call home and the actor, who is known for his role as Jay Brown on the soap, recently gave fans a glimpse.

The 26 year old actor, who has featured in the hit BBC soap since 2006, took to Instagram to show his 255,000 followers a peek inside his snug home.

Enjoying a guitar solo, the actor played a very funky coloured instrument while posing in his sleek pad.

Clearly a keen musician, a range of electric guitars can be seen sitting in the room against a white wall.

The star also has a very rustic woodburning stove sitting in the centre of his living room, and large glass doors show that the room faces a large pond with forest views to boot.

Reclining on his huge grey sofa, clad with vibrant green scatter cushions and a stylish throw, Jamie puts his feet up in one snap, while again playing an electric guitar.

The room is airy and bright and looks like the ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle of life and learn some lines.

The home boasts neutral shades throughout, with pops of colour added in the form of furniture chosen by the star.

And there’s no denying Jamie has an eye for interiors, with another room boasting an organised white bookshelf sitting next to an old mahogany chest of drawers.

Jamie has been in the soap world for most of his life, being just twelve when he was first cast in the show.

On EastEnders, Jay was an orphan at the age of 14 but he was taken in by the Mitchell’s, and quickly became a big part in the family.

And some years on from when he joined EastEnders, Jamie found out he wad related to one of his co-stars.

The Jay Brown actor made the discovery after hearing that Hunter Owen would be portrayed by Charlie Winter.

After making the connection that he had a great uncle with the same name, he then realised that the pair are actually second cousins.

He took the Instagram to share news with soap fans, saying: “My great uncle is called Charlie Winter, so when they said there was a kid coming in called Charlie Winter, I was like, 'Seriously?’”

Jamie then continued to tell his followers: "Turns out we are second cousins."
