J. Lo and A-Rod: The sweetest things they've said about each other

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have had what appears to be a storybook romance throughout their two-year relationship.

The global pop star and former professional baseball player, who recently got engaged, aren’t shy about expressing their affection for one another on social media.

Just last month, the retired New York Yankees shortstop wrote, “We are meant to be, and how much you mean to me cannot be put into words,” about Lopez in a sweet social post.

Loving tributes on their 2-year anniversary

For their two-year anniversary in February, Rodriguez and Lopez both shared emotional love letters on Instagram, expanding on their strong connection.

“Two years of laughter. Two years of fun. Two years of adventures. Of excitement of growing and learning. Of true friendship and so much love!!” Lopez captioned a post, featuring images of them and their blended families.

J.Lo has twins, Max and Emme, 11, from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez has two children, Ella, 10, and Natasha, 14, from his previous marriage to Cynthia Scurtis.

“You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place… in the midst of our ever-changing, ever-moving life… you make me feel like a teenager starting out all over again,” she added in the post.

The retired New York Yankees legend penned an equally emotional tribute to Lopez.

“From baseball games, to traveling across the world to shows in Vegas. We have done it all together and every moment with you is cherished,” he wrote.

“Where this road will take us next is unknown but there is no one else I would rather have by my side. The journey is just beginning and I am excited for what’s ahead.”

“Like you there is none other,” he added. “Words will never do justice to what the last two years have meant to me.”

Sweet notes on Valentine’s Day

Rodriguez shared an adorable video of the duo singing with their family to the song “The Time of My Life” on the special day.

Lopez wrote, “So much love to give today and everyday!” in her post.

Lopez said “between our kids and our work and all of the wonderful things going on” that Rodriguez and she are “having the best time,” in an interview with ABC News’ Amy Robach for “Good Morning America” in June 2018.

“We’re truly blessed,” she added.

New Year’s 2018 with their families

They celebrated New Year’s together with their children in December 2018.

The singer also shared photos of the couple and their loved ones in matching pajamas on Christmas.

On the field and in the arena

Lopez shared a photo of her beau on the field and congratulated him for another season as an MLB analyst for FOX Sports in October 2018.

He often shares images from her concerts, movies and red carpet appearances. When she was finishing up her three-year Las Vegas residency, Rodriguez commended her for her incredible success with the concert series.

“I can’t believe you are down to your final 12 shows from this 3-year journey,” he wrote in a post. “Your talent and work ethic have made “All I Have” the best show in Vegas.”

“Congrats on an amazing and successful residency and I am privileged to have seen you perform during this incredible run,” he added.

On their strong comparisons for Vanity Fair

“We are very much twins,” Rodriguez told Vanity Fair in December 2017. “We’re both Leos; we’re both from New York; we’re both Latino and about 20 other things.”

“I understand him in a way that I don’t think anyone else could, and he understands me in a way that no one else could ever,” Lopez added.

“In his 20s, he came into big success with the biggest baseball contract [at the time],” she continued. “I had a No. 1 movie and a No. 1 album and made history. We both had ups and downs and challenges in our 30s, and by our 40s we’d both been through so much. And more importantly than anything, we had both done a lot of work on ourselves.”
