Kim Kardashian is putting her money where her mouth is.
Less than two weeks after the reality star, 38, called out fast fashion brand Missguided for replicating a gold dress designed by husband Kanye West, she’s taking the company to court.
According to TMZ, Kardashian is suing the company for using her name and image without permission to advertise its own designs, which look nearly identical to her originals.
The documents reportedly include multiple instances in which Missguided has used photos of the reality star to promote its own versions of her outfits, tagged her on social media and insinuated that she is working with the company, which she has denied.
These cheaper versions of Kardashian’s designer clothes are often posted online within 24 hours, though they are not manufactured until a later date when pre-sale email addresses and payment have been collected.
Kardashian has asked the judge to file an injunction to stop Missguided from using her photographs, and is seeking damages in excess of $10 million.
More recently, the beauty mogul has gone after Fashion Nova for the same tactics. Some have insinuated that she may even be working with the company to leak her looks before wearing them in order to reap commission from retailers. Kardashian has categorically denied any connection, however, as has Fashion Nova, and the company no longer uses her name or likeness to promote its products.
Despite Kardashian’s very public feud with companies like Missguided and Fashion Nova, her family is still on these brands’ payrolls. Both Kylie and Kris Jenner regularly post paid advertisements for Fashion Nova on Instagram, and Kourtney Kardashian even designed a collection for a similar company, Pretty Little Thing, in the past.
On Wednesday night, Khloé Kardashian even attended a Pretty Little Thing event, in her first public outing since news broke that the star’s boyfriend Tristan Thompson had hooked up with Kylie’s best friend, Jordyn Woods.
