Love Island fans have been left with deja vu after the cast of the 2023 Winter series was announced as they point out uncanny similarities between the newest batch of singletons hoping to find love in the iconic villa and those who have gone before them.
Fans spotted doppelgängers for some of the show's most memorable stars including 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 2020 contestant Callum Jones and 2019's Yewande Biala.
As viewers prepare for the return of the iconic show on January 16, let's take a look at the contestants that have left some convinced that they're seeing double…
Anna-May Robey and India Reynolds
The first new contestant that fans have accused of being a doppelgänger is Anna-May Robey, a payroll assistant from Swansea, who viewers have compared to 2019 Glamour Model contestant India Reynolds.
India made it all the way to the final with Basketball player Ovie Soko, so this might be a good omen for Anna-May.
20 year old Anna-May says she’s “excited,” to join the show and that her mum has been urging her to finally find a boyfriend.
Kai Fagan and Danny Williams
Science and PE teacher Kai Fagan has been compared to 2019 contestant and personal trainer Danny Williams.
Not only do the two boys share an uncanny physical similarity, they’re also both 24 and hail from Manchester.
Kai, who admits he has “high expectations,” when it comes to dating, is also the cousin of Coronation Street star Dean Fagan.
Tanyel Revan and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu
26 year old hairdresser Tanyel Revan will be heading to the South African villa in the hopes of finding love, but before she’s even had a chance to make a name for herself fans are already comparing her to 2022 winner Ekin-Su.
The two share a resemblance due to their long brunette locks and tanned skin – and, as Tanyel describes herself as “fiesty”, they might prove to be similar in personality too!
Ron Hall and Callum Jones
Fans of the show couldn’t help compare new boy Ron Hall, 25, to one of 2020’s Winter contestants, Callum Jones.
Callum found love on the show and is still dating his Casa Amor pick, Mollie Smith – so Ron, a financial advisor, is probably hoping to follow in his lookalike’s footsteps.
Olivia Hawkins and Kendall-Rae Knight
When Kendall Rae-Knight first headed into the villa for the fourth series in 2014, all anyone could talk about was her close resemblance to series two star McDermott.
Now, it looks like history is set to repeat itself as new contestant Olivia Hawkins is hailed as doppelgänger for Kendall herself.
Actress Olivia, 27, already has experience in the spotlight as she starred in a Daniel Craig James Bond film and has acted as a body double for stars including Michelle Keegan.
Tanya Manhenga and Yewande Biala
Irish scientist Yewande headed into the villa back in 2019, alongside Molly-Mae Hague and eventual winner Amber Gill.
But in 2023, fans are swearing they’re seeing double as 22 year old influencer Tanya Manhenga prepares to enter the show.
The two women also seem to have similar interests, as Tanya is studying biomedical science at University.
Will Young and Charlie Radnedge
Farmer Will Young might already share a name with a famous pop star, but fans of the dating show think he’s also a dead ringer for past Islander Charlie Radnedge.
Charlie, who entered the show in 2022, initially coupled up with eventual winner Ekin-Su but was dumped from the villa not long after.
Will’s probably hoping to have more luck in love, but did reveal in his intro that he’s often guilty of sabotaging himself and suffers from “commitment issues,” – so we’ll see!
