She tested out the peeling trick on her Instagram page, earning high praise from her foodie followers.

‘I’ve always used a potato peeler. Never tried a spoon. Will give it a go,’ one woman said.

‘I’m too lazy, I just grate it with the skin on. I’m going to give this a go,’ said another.

This isn’t the first time her fans have been ‘wowed’ by a food trick from Katie, who just last week spoke about how to effectively peel garlic without even touching it.

Meal prep guru Katie Lolas, said the ‘most efficient way’ to peel garlic is to crush the bulb and shake it around in a container

In a clip she uploaded, she crushes her bulb of garlic with her hand to separate the cloves, places it in a container, closes the lid and shakes it around until the skin comes away.

‘All you have to do is place the garlic that you want peeled inside a container place the lid on that container and shake and there you have it – peeled garlic,’ she said in the video.

The quick and effortless hack can shave minutes off cooking time and save you from wrestling with fiddly garlic gloves.

Rather than wresting with the garlic, pop a whole head or a few cloves in the microwave on high for 20 seconds

The cloves will slip effortlessly right out of the peels and won’t leave you with the dreaded ‘garlic fingers’.

After heating the garlic on high, cautiously pick it up or place it in a bowl as it will be hot.

‘This is a pretty good method. There is still some peeling involved but this makes it easier,’ one person wrote in the comments.

‘Omg this made my entire cooking so darn easy,’ another added.
